Bandit was happy about the rain. Will was, too, but he knew his horse was thrilled for a chance to go riding in the wet mud. Since it wasn't a big storm, he had headed to the barn as soon as the first drops started to fall, and they had a good ride together. Of course, that meant he'd had to clean Bandit up after, and now he was covered in mud and wet clothes. Fortunately, it was Friday night, and he didn't have anywhere to be, so he figured he'd indulge in a hot bath with a good book on his Kindle. Definitely wasn't something he planned to share with Lilah, though. He got teased enough by her for his 'girly' behavior when they shared a house.
He kicked off his dirty boots after he got inside and was in the process of stripping out of his wet clothes when he heard his phone go off. He ignored it for long enough to get out of the wet jeans before he picked it up. "Hello?" he said, tossing his wet clothes into the washer before walking barefoot and naked out of the laundry room.
Phone tucked between his ear and shoulder, Caleb rooted through a drawer for the jeans he wanted. There was enough ringing on the other end that he was preparing to go ahead and leave a message, but he heard Will's voice at the last second. Preferable to leaving a voicemail anyway, though he might've tried calling back later while he was taking a break from the Friday night crush. Grinning, he leaned over to pluck a title out of the box at random.
"So. Phallus in Wonderland?" he said by way of greeting.
It took Will a minute to place the voice. When he did, a slow smile spread across his lips. Caleb of the delicious ass and intriguing wit. Will hadn't been sure if the guy would call or not, especially after he gave in to his mischievous urge to send him a little present while waiting. Fine. He wasn't very patient, nor was he used to waiting for a guy he'd pretty much propositioned in the middle of the street decide whether he was into becoming friends or getting naked.
"Did you watch it yet?" he asked, reaching for a dish towel to wipe off his hair as he walked through the kitchen. "Man, the mouth on the Mad Hatter. Let me tell you, I'm surprised I have any brain cells left after the sucking that guy could do. And don't even get me started on the White Rabbit." He chuckled. "No teasing, though, because that was when I was just making my name, so I took pretty much anything that'd pay me enough and was above board."
"Not yet. You sure give a guy enough to choose from." Caleb sat on the edge of the bed, careful not to sit on the shirt he'd spread out and wrinkle it, then tilted his head as he flipped the case over. "I don't know. The White Rabbit doesn't look that impressive to me."
"I did check out A Midsummer Night's Wetdream yesterday, though. Made for interesting dinnertime viewing." His mouth went a little dry as he remembered, and registered the fact that he was talking to the man now. He cleared his throat. "You, ah...you use props well. And you've come a long way from Extra Credit."
"It's probably sad that those are two of my more popular films, huh?" Will wrinkled his nose as he ran his fingers through his way too curly hair. Damn water. "I did include some with somewhat less cheesy titles. Of course, if you liked Extra Credit, you might enjoy Detention or Bad Boys of Bayside College. Alas, I was too pretty to be cast as a 'bad boy' at that time."
He made it to the stairs and put the dish towel down before sitting on it. No reason to put his bare ass there. "I use everything well, by the way. It's why I'm popular, even though I haven't actually been making movies lately. In my old age, I've become quite adapt at topping the hell out of pretty boys and making women moan, though, so I can't fault them for enjoying my stuff." He snickered. "And that sounded a lot dirtier than I intended for our first phone call, darlin'."
"Don't sell yourself so short. You're still plenty pretty," Caleb said, drawling a little, because he was already having fun. "But I'm a bit old for schoolboy fantasies these days. Seems I've become a bit of a Shakespeare fan, who knew?"
He reached down automatically to scruff Stoner behind the ears when he padded into the room, probably hearing the voices. "Don't worry, I'm not talking smack about you, buddy," he said, voice pitched lower.
"Think maybe we've passed the point of phone call decorum, don't you?" Caleb leaned back on one hand and crossed his ankles, grinning into the phone. He hadn't indulged in such cheesy flirting in way too long. "How've you been, anyway? Between topping every man and woman from here to Austin?"
"Too old to be pretty," Will muttered even as he grinned. "I'm manly and masculine now. Not some twinky pretty boy. If you're into Shakespeare and straight stuff, I can send you a copy of The Cumming of the Shrew. It's got a great gang bang scene, and I fuck a lot of people, so there's that added bonus
( ... )
"Sorry to break it to you, but you can't exactly grow out of baby blues and long eyelashes, Mr Manly," Caleb said easily, because the way Will had muttered about his masculinity had been cute as hell. "I'm always up for porn recs, though I'm not sure I should be watching you on tape so much, now that I know you. Sets me up for all kinds of expectations for the real thing." And, he thought, he was getting to know Will well enough as a person that he might feel a little creepy doing it past a certain point.
Unless the man was there at the time of course, but that was venturing into fantasy territory again.
"Ah, just my dog. Stoner came in to see who I was talking to," he said, a smile in his voice as the dog left the room again. "He's bored with you now, though." He laughed. "Well now, in this case, I don't think I can be blamed for mixing fantasy and reality a little. Liam."Kids don't live with you, huh?" He filed the information away, in the interest of getting to know Will a little better. It seemed that recently he was meeting a

Will snorted. "Full disclosure: I haven't been able to come more than twice without the recovery time that filming allows, and I'm open but probably generally more vanilla than the characters I've played. I do, however, have an amazing dick, and I know how to use it. Feel free to let those expectations rise, but I hear you about the films. Might be weird, I suppose. I think I've developed a tolerance or something, since a lot of my friends are also in the industry

Caleb's mouth worked silently for a few seconds, unable to form a quick reply. "Uh," he said around a laugh. It wasn't easy to make him speechless, but Will had managed it. "Good to know. You better not be all talk, though. A man less secure than myself would already have a complex by now
( ... )
"If you were insecure, there's a good chance we wouldn't be talking anyway," Will said matter-of-factly. "I'm attracted to confidence and a man who's comfortable in his own skin. Besides, why play games? This is who I am, and, if you're interested, I'd rather it be in me than some role I've played in film or some act I've put up. That's just pointless
( ... )
"Wasn't complaining," Caleb said, though he was impressed with everything he heard. It was refreshing. "Just took me kinda off-guard. Turns out I'm into people with a little confidence, myself, and I'm not a fan of games. Makes my head spin, and not in the good way

"I'm friends with all my exes. Not the one night stands, but any of them that I liked well enough to have more than a night with," Will said. "I've never really been that big on games and being someone I'm not. If I'm not in the front of the camera, I'm pretty much a what you see is what you get kind of guy. Not that there isn't a little mystery, too, but nothing bad."
"Connor and Chloe are the most important thing. Lilah and I had already ended things and become friends by the time she found out about them. It just seemed natural to continue that friendship and be parents, even when we weren't sleeping together anymore. I think it's helped the kids, but I guess we won't really know until they're older."
Will smiled. "I don't know yet, but my gut tells me that you're not a liar, so I'll trust it this time." He nodded even though Caleb wasn't there to see him. "That sounds like a plan. I'd suggest steaks at my place next weekend, but I don't know your work schedule or when you're free. Would next weekend work?"
"I'm friends with one of my exes--best friends actually," Caleb said, thinking of Josh, who wasn't quite an ex, but he could never figure out the right words to use for that stuff, "but it's only ever worked the once." Excepting Audrey, he supposed, but they'd been friends before during and after they'd hooked up, and had settled out almost like it'd never happened, unlike with Josh, whom he'd caught real feelings for, for a while. "It was sorta complicated, on my end anyway. Not a huge fan of complicated."
He nodded. "Well, for what it's worth, I can't see how a kid could go wrong with parents as thoughtful as you two seem. Not all parents are, believe me."
"They say you should always go with your gut," he said easily, then frowned a bit as he thought about next weekend. He didn't have anything on the books beyond work, and he should really... No, damn it. He wasn't going in. "Know what, how about next Friday?"
It sounded like there was a story there, especially with Caleb not being a fan of complicated. Will knew that not everyone was as open as he was about personal stuff, so he didn't ask any questions. Yet. Depending on where this thing went between them, if anywhere, he might end up wanting to know if Caleb did complicated now.
"Lilah and I are awesome parents, if I do say so myself. Connor and Chloe can't complain, but they did just become teenagers last month, so we'll see how the next few years go." Will wasn't looking forward to teen drama, so he hoped they'd be lucky enough to avoid that period. "And next Friday sounds perfect. We'll say seven? I'll text you directions to the ranch later. After I take a shower and get dressed."
He kicked off his dirty boots after he got inside and was in the process of stripping out of his wet clothes when he heard his phone go off.
