RP: Happy Anniversary

Summary: It's Jasper and Demi's six month anniversary.

Jasper wasn't obsessed with these little milestones, really, but he was very aware of them, and the fact that he and Demi had been dating for six months and that she still wanted to be with him after all the changes from this summer was something to celebrate. He really didn't have any big plans, really, he just wanted something quiet and intimate at home with her. It didn't matter that they'd just had a vacation a couple weeks before, because there had been a lot going on since they'd come back, with the hearing and Leanne and then Abby moving in this week.
He'd talked to Demi about it, because he didn't want her to think he'd forgotten or anything, and when he'd told her he was going to see if Abby could stay the night with Leanne, Demi had requested that Abby be there for at least part of the night, which made Jasper even more sure that Demi was an incredible woman and he was beyond lucky to have her in his life. So after work he'd swung by Leanne's to pick Abby up, glad that -for now, at least- they had a routine that worked for them with Abby going over there after school and Jasper picking her up after work. Leanne would pick Abby back up in a couple hours, and Jasper was trying hard not to feel guilty about that, but he just didn't feel comfortable sleeping with Demi with Abby in the apartment, and maybe it was selfish of him, but he really wanted to make love to Demi tonight.
They had a little bit of time to get dinner started before Demi would be off work and on her way over. Abby was excited to help, which was nice, but Jasper was finding that sometimes when a six-year-old helped, it really meant more work for him. It didn't bother him, though, and he let her wash the vegetables, which he cut up as she passed them over, setting them aside to wait until it was time to add them to the fresh chicken for the stir fry. He was just bringing the plates down from the cupboard when he heard the door open, signaling Demi's arrival.
"Why don't you go ahead and set the table?" he suggested to Abby, handing the plates to her and watching her bounce away, pleased to have another task. "We're in the kitchen," Jasper called out to Demi, turning back to the stove to stir the food.
