"Man, they're your friends so I think its safe to assume that I'll like them," he said, leaning against a nearby pillar, watching Jake fire up the grill. "And, I wouldn't expect any less of your friends, lovely women included, to be just that. Lovely." He could hear the protective streak in Jake's voice. Subtle but there.
The tone in his friend's voice should have warned him, but he was slow on the uptake and couldn't dodge the apron flying at this face. He gave it a mock distasteful look. "You have got to be kidding me," he said even as he slipped the loop of it over his head and tying off the strings at the back. He looked down and snorted. "You'll pay for this," he murmured before hearing voices coming from inside.

Jake laughed, very pleased at himself for catching Drew offguard. He smirked at Drew, keeping his attention long enough for Star to snap a picture of him with the camera and gleefully run off, thrilled to have been part of the joke. He figured Drew would get rid of it as shortly as possible, though perhaps he would be tempted once he saw some of Jake's friends--most of them were lookers, though that wasn't why they were his friends.
"Yeah, yeah, so you say now," he retorted.

The flash of the camera was unexpected and he thought of giving chase after the girl to obtain the camera and get rid of the evidence. But he knew there were photos of him out there in way more compromising positions and outfits, so he just gave a mock growl. He started grinning. "I'll wear it while at the grill, but with the way temperatures are climbing, this and my shirt will be gone soon." He would require some sunblock at that point, but he could probably get someone willing to help him out with that.
"So, until such time I get bored and abandon you to grill everything by yourself, I'm quite willing to run back and forth to the kitchen if you need anything." He hear more people arriving and felt the familiar flutter of slight nerves at meeting new people.

Star laughed gleefully as she fled unfollowed. She was having fun having another man around for a bit, a friend of her father's. It was unusual these days since most of his friends were female with the main exception of Rico.
"Feel free. I'm just amused to have gotten you into it in the first place." He'd probably lose his shirt if it got too much hotter anyway. The one thing he could still take pride in was his arms, chest and abdomen.
"Probably just the pans to put the meat in when they're done. That's about all I can think of off the top of my head," he said, thinking.

Star's laughter was infectious and it made him laugh too.
"Just yell when you want me to fetch that stuff, ok? Or have the munchkin tell me if I'm not within hearing distance."
He was about to remove the apron when Star introduced her dance teacher.
