...well, so much for grabbing the book and going back to the table, she thought to herself with a blink as she realized that a few more minutes had passed than she had thought, and that Fi was earlier than she'd expected him to be. Oops. She grinned up at him, tucked the book under her arm, and grabbed for his hand, hoping he was still okay with the way they used to hold hands, swinging them way, way up high, back and forth like a crazy pendulum.
"Not too much. Heat's crazy down here, Fi. Kinda wish the heatwave and the drought hadn't picked to come the same summer as me, but at least the library has AC, right?" She led him back to her table, not too far from where she'd been standing, which was why she'd been okay with leaving her bag and laptop for a moment. "How're my kitten nephews?"
"We're gonna end up knocking something over," she giggled, even as they made their hands go higher. "Probably shouldn't make the librarians mad at me before I even get a card here." She shrugged a little bit, jokingly. "I thought I brought enough books, but I think maybe I'll get a card before I head back, so that when I come back down, I already have one." Giving Fi her very best innocent grin, she waited several beats before spoiling it by waggling her eyebrows. "'cause I am coming back, y'know."
Plopping in her seat and pulling it close in to the table, then sitting Indian-style in her chair, she propped her elbows on the table, then put her chin in her hands. "I miss him too. Even if I think he only likes me because I make him snuggle."
