RP: Running a Red Light

Location: Street Corner and then JPS hospital

Summary: The white pedestrian light had been on. It was supposed to have been safe to walk across the crosswalk.

He took the same route every time. He’d figured out where the coffee shops were that served the particular brands of coffee that Adrienne liked the most and somewhere a little before eleven, he’d pop out of the office and go walk to pick up the coffee and then bring it back for himself and Adrienne. It took up one of his breaks which made her happy (she started to worry if he skipped them) and well coffee. Coffee was one of the few things he refused to give up ever.
He always crossed the street here, looking both ways and waiting for the pedestrian walk light to light up. He had been grateful for the routine today because it gave him time to sort out things in his head. Adrienne had kissed him when she and Alden had stayed over that one night. Nothing major, just a simple kiss on the cheek, but still it had been a kiss. A kiss from Adrienne.
He was confused. And probably going to call his Gram later to ask her what to do next.
He never saw the SUV coming.
