Ezra and Shelby are sharing a journal for right now
Thirteen, this was a milestone. Shelby didn't feel any different, but everyone kept on talking about thirteen like it was a big deal. Even Demi, Uncle Ezra and Kyle's friend had made a big deal about it when she had arrived to keep Mack and Bryn under control. She kept telling people she didn't feel any different, but they all seemed to be waving her off and telling her 'oh, you will'.
She wasn't going to dwell on that now though. Tonight she was being treated to dinner by two of her favorite guys, her Uncle Ra and Kyle. Shelby kind of thought they felt obligated to take her out since her Mom was working, but when she voiced that opinion the look her Uncle had given her clearly said 'no'.
"Uncle Ra, are we going tonight?" Shelby called from her perch at the kitchen table, already perfecting the art of teenage attitude. Or simple 'Stadheim Impatience' as her Mom liked to call it.
Ezra emerged from the basement seconds later, raising an eyebrow at Shelby. "Shelby Bug. That attitude is not cute." He remarked as he cross the kitchen and pulled her up out of her chair and into a hug.
Wrinkling her nose, Shelby hugged her Uncle back. "Not attitude, just impatient." She sighed, pulled away from the hug to slip underneath her Uncle's arm and make her way over to Kyle who had just appeared in the basement doorway. "Do I get a hug from my other favorite guy?" Shelby grinning up at Kyle once she reached him.
