Hearing the chime of a new text message as she toweled her hair in front of the mirror, Carrie turned to grab her 'phone and flipped it open. Grinning in amusement as she thought to herself that this would be the third opportunity to go dancing in as many months, she dashed off a reply to Nereida, then headed to her closet, a little giddy at the sheer spontaneity of it all. Picking a red dress that she hadn't worn in a while but that she liked the cut of, she gently pulled out a garnet necklace from her jewelry chest, fastening it around her throat. Quickly running her hands through her hair and deciding to let it air-dry on the way to the club, Carrie fastened on a pair of heels before grabbing a small purse, putting in her 'phone and wallet.

Calling a goodbye to her uncle, she plopped into the driver's seat, then stopped. Gently biting her lip, she leaned back as she picked her 'phone out of her purse and pulled up her contacts. You busy tonight?

Elliot smiled like he always did when he saw Carrie's name come up on his phone. He tilted his head slightly as he read the message. Never too busy for you. What's up? he replied.

If he could do something with her tonight, it would be great, he thought. He always wanted to go out with her. He didn't have an active social life, and besides, he would admit if only deep in his mind he was a bit besotted with her.

The night was right for having the top down, she thought to herself as the wind gently combed through her hair. As she pulled up to a traffic light, she checked quickly to see if there'd been a reply, and shook her head with a slight blush when she read it. Keeping half an eye on the light, she typed quickly. Going dancing with a girl I met at a party. And I seem to remember you owe me a dance. En route now, but if you want to go, I can pick you up, or give you the name of the place. Hitting "send" right as the signal changed to green, Carrie started the car up again, wondering who else would be there tonight.

I do indeed owe you a dance. Would love to go with you. Pick me up? Not that he ever really turned down the chance to take out his new car, but he'd like to spend more time with her and besides, her car was a sexy little thing too.

Dancing, huh? He'd been wanting to dance with her ever since they'd gone out with Fi and Derrick and that night had blown to hell. He went in to his room and quickly threw on something nicer, trousers and a blue button up shirt.

It wasn't what he meant, but she had to say it anyway, Carrie thought with an impish grin. Pick you up? Let's see... "Come here often?" Nah; overused. Send me your address?

Giggling under her breath, she pushed a hand into her hair, resting her elbow on the door as she turned onto a side road to pull over and wait for his reply.

Hm, wondered if you'd catch that ;) "What's your sign, pretty lady?" Elliot chuckled as he finished buttoning up his shirt and added his address to the bottom of the text before sending it off.

Rolling her eyes with a soft snort, she punched the address into her GPS and let it percolate a moment as she responded. Cheeeeeesy. No brownie points for you. Be there shortly. Putting her 'phone on the dashboard and merging back onto the road, she hummed a few bars of a song Alice used to sing in the shower, which had inexplicably popped into her head again. I could have spread my wings, and done a thousand things I've never done before...

Elliot chuckled. He would text her back, but she was probably driving and she would be here soon, and he'd pout at her about the brownie points then. He finished getting ready, making sure he had money in his wallet and his credit card, brushing his hair before going outside to wait so she wouldn't have to bother with getting out of the car.

He wondered what she was wearing...

It was really such a pretty night, she mused to herself as she tilted her head back a little to let the breeze lift her hair off her shoulders just a little, relaxing as she sped along. And with any luck, her hair would be mostly dry by the time they got to the club; one slightly-damp curl brushed against her cheek, making her smile faintly in amusement as she puffed a breath at it to make it fall back into place. Turning into the driveway in front of his place, she almost immediately caught sight of him lounging outside, and grinned as she pulled in and leaned over a bit to try and grab his attention. "Going my way, Flyboy?"

Elliot was tempted to smoke his last cigarette of the day while he waited, but he didn't want to get caught out, especially since most women he knew who didn't smoke considered it a bad habit. Really, he thought it was a bad habit, which is why he didn't advertise it.

He smiled as she pulled up, pushing away from the wall and walking over to her car. And mm, he liked the look of that dress, at least from the top. Sexy woman. "Mmm, yes, I do believe I am, pretty lady," he said, walking to her side first to reach out and tug on a curl before leaning down to kiss her cheek gently. "Love that color on you."

"Flattery gets you nowhere," she snickered as he came over. "And it certainly doesn't mean I'm going to let you drive." Her breath catching as he bent over, her eyes drifted half-shut in surprise as his lips ghosted over her skin. "Thank you," she murmured, dragging her eyes open as he came around to slide into the passenger seat. Shifting the car into reverse, Carrie looked at him out of the corner of her eye. "I should warn you that I didn't invite Fi or Der, so you're pretty much stuck with me and whoever else Nereida invited tonight." She smirked faintly, glancing at him teasingly as they pulled away. "Just in case you want to jump ship now."

"Didn't expect it, but good to know I can't weasel my way into it that way," he said, skimming his fingers softly over her jaw before making his way around to the other side.

"Oooh, a brother and his boyfriend free night," Elliot said jokingly. "After the last time we tried dancing, that might be for the best this time." That had been awkward, and interupted his plans of getting a dance in with her. "Jump ship? Never. I get to keep you mostly to myself, then. Sounds excellent." Sounded nice, though he was sure he'd be fending off other guys. She was too attractive not to have them pursue her. He didn't have a real claim on her, he knew, and he would respect whatever she wanted, but he would like to dance with mostly her tonight, to be honest.

She couldn't help the roll of her eyes at the memory. "I don't even know for sure how things fell out after that," she confessed. "Talk about suddenly feeling like a bull in a china shop." Snickering under her breath as she made a sudden turn onto a side road, Carrie tossed her head and bit her bottom lip thoughtfully at him. "So, I know where this place is, and the highway's still got a little bit of traffic. Any objections to me taking back roads that'll let us get some speed under us?"

"Tell me about it," Elliot agreed. That had certainly been an awkward situation, especially with that woman eyeing him on top of everything else, and oh god, that had been a little freaky, like being some exotic prey animal. Not fun.

He laughed under his breath as she took a sudden turn. "Oh no, feel free and let this baby go some," he said, unable to keep himself from enabling just a bit. "Hot little thing like this needs to get some speed sometimes." Elliot leaned back into his seat, putting his arm across the back and letting his hand barely skim the back of her neck and her hair, smiling.

"I dunno," she mocked him slyly, "Emma seemed to think you were quite the dreamboat." Waggling her eyebrows a bit, she kept her eyes on the road, laughing lightly. "Got the girls lining up for you, Captain."

Shifting into higher gear and pushing harder on the gas, she made a soft sound of appreciation as the Eclipse smoothly sped forward. Her fingers tightening a little around the gear-shift in unconscious glee, she grinned at the mild urging in his comment. "That she does; she gets antsy with me just going around town." The delicate touch made her shiver faintly, a flush rising in her cheeks. "See, told you you're a Car Whisperer. When're you going on the talk-show circuit?"

Elliot shuddered faintly. "Oh, no thank you. She was a rotten seed, I could tell that from the get-go. If she'd come much closer, I would have had to use you as a shield or something." And that was the truth of that. "Lining up for me? I do think you are imagining things, Miss Harper," he drawled.

And she drove manual and that was just hot for some reason, Elliot thought. He purred quietly, lifting his face to the wind that picked up as she sped up. When she didn't shift away, he left his fingers to trace back and and forth lightly. "Mmm, no, I think I'd rather stay here than do something like that."
