RP: Running into the Weekend

Piers stretched as he got out of the car. He was off shift for the weekend and he was going to start it off right with a run. Then there would be nice hot shower and possibly a long nap as well. He felt a little stiff having sat in a car for the past 48 hours excepting bathroom breaks. While he felt mentally calm his body felt jumpy and even though he was more than over tired until this energy was discharged there was no way he was going to sleep.
Swinging his arms a little he took off down the path starting off at a gentle jog, Piers found himself loosing himself into the constant pound and breathing. All the thoughts of the case left his mind. Unfortunately the calm that was coming over him was destroyed as he rolled on what felt like a boulder and lost his footing falling forward and the down the slight hill off the path. A series of angry curses came out of his mouth as he went down and then came to a stop at the foot of a tree. What an ominous start to the weekend. Piers sighed and let his head fall back to lean against the tree.
