Been reading Walden by Thoreau. Just him and the forest, the pond. He said it looks like glass. Rather intense observations, descriptions about nature. Soulful. That's what I look for. I think writers are people who know their time here and try to capture their perceptions in the form of words. I rather miss the intense descriptions. Many writers don't look at things very closely anymore. I watched a movie recently. There was a shot of the trees, the canopy, swinging slowly in the wind. Back and forth. It was soothing. Made me think that we're not living like they did back then. What could be better than that swinging? That light breeze on the skin. Your dog sleeping underneath the hammock. Just makes you breathe in. What does it mean to live? Is there any one thing? I'd like to ask everyone on the planet, and I wouldn't stop at just the humans. I wish we'd have more of a respect for life.
