"Weird-assed island," Reno replied, jumping right on into the conversation all over again. "It ain't on Spira, yo. Ain't bad, but it ain't where I call home, either."
... Actually, yes, it was. But, you know. Originally.
"We're kind of in another ... dimension? I think?" Rikku screwed up her face, trying to figure out how to explain. "It's confusing. I can get home and back, but it's not anywhere people have heard of. It's not just a different planet or world, it's ... not here."
"Okay," she said, nodding along. Confusing, but hell, she was dead. Lots of stuff was confusing. "So you're from somewhere else entirely? You don't seem like a Yevonite, but you don't have our eyes, either."
She wouldn't object to her daughter dating a Yevonite -- Cid's sister had married that Summoner, and bitching about it had cost Cid plenty -- but he didn't seem like one.
"Place called Midgar," Reno agreed, maybe a heartbeat too quickly. "Planet Gaia. Couldn't care less about Yevon, yo. Only gods I ever bothered believin' in are the summons from back home."
