Yuna
Yuna felt more wrung-out after the first day of... well, basically babysitting a bunch of oversized five year olds, than she had at any point along her Pilgrimage.
"That was..." She waved in vague frustration. There were no words!
Rikku
"A disaster?" Rikku asked. "Disaster-iffic? Disastrous? Disaster-tastic?"
She ran a hand through her hair, and considered yanking out fistfuls of it.
"I'm so sorry that I ever thought this was a good idea. I give up. They can all kill each other. They deserve whatever they get."
Yuna
Yuna wouldn't go quit that far, but... she was close enough to agreeing that she wasn't about to disagree.
"Why did they even bother showing up if they're just going to be so unhelpful?" Besides the fact that she'd yelled at them.
Lulu
Lulu walked up, pulling a flask out of her cleavage.
"Anyone need something to ease the pain?" she asked, after taking a long swig. "Honestly, I think even at their worst, my least mature student possessed more maturity than the entire lot."
Rikku
"Me," Rikku said, holding out a hand for the flask. She no longer cared if Yunie would think badly of her, for it. "I was apologizing to Yuna for ever having this stupid idea in the first place. Maybe they'll ... calm down, after they get all the grumpiness out?"
Right. That was likely.
Yuna
Yuna almost held out her own hand, but... didn't. She was half-worried that if she started drinking now, even just a little bit, by the end of the week she'd be ready for a three-day bender.
"It's like they're not even trying," she sighed unhappily.
Lulu
"I'm not sure they could be any more trying if they actually wanted to," Lulu retorted. She sighed -- and took another swig -- when a Ronso youth came running up.
"Someone needs to get those Guado out of here!" he said, "or I can't promise-"
Lulu cut him off. "I'll deal with this," she said, rolling her eyes and dragging the Ronso youth off. Physically.
She left the flask for Rikku. (And Yuna, if she changed her mind.)
Rikku
Rikku would share, if Yuna wanted it. Even Yuna had a breaking point, right?
She took a swig from the flask, relishing the burn.
"I'm not sure why I thought getting everyone in one place would make them start talking," she said. "I don't think people want to get along. It's just making it worse."
Yuna
"I don't know about that," Yuna said after a moment. "I mean... I don't know that anything could make it worse. Except if the Ronso really do start killing the Guado here."
She didn't think that was going to happen... Or maybe hope was a better word...
Rikku
"I can't believe I begged the Guado to come," Rikku snapped. "They haven't said a word all day. Oh, hi, we're sorry, we're here, and then they shut up. Fat lot of good that does. I'm not sure we shouldn't let the Ronso attack."
It was hard to tell how much Rikku was just venting, and how much she really no longer cared if everyone gave up and started maiming each other.
Yuna
"Maybe they just need to get it out of their systems?" Yuna said in that hopelessly hopeful tone of voice people use when they want something to be true but don't really think it will be.
"Tomorrow might be productive."
Rikku
"It might be," Rikku agreed, tonelessly. After a moment, she reached over to squeeze her cousin's hand. "At least we tried, yeah?"
Maybe this would all go to hell. Maybe she'd have to wash her hands of the whole nightmare. But at least, if she did, she'd know that she gave it her all, first.
She still wished it didn't have to be this way.
