Rikku flopped down on her bed with an engineering text and tried to pretend she was reading it.
So, newbie day had come and gone, and she'd met some really cool people. Like
Amber with the neat accent who she hoped was going to try out for cheer.
Romeo, whose world sounded heartbreakingly too much like her own, and who had lost his wife because of it.
Reno, who she kept having the
strangest conversations with, but they were on for sparring tomorrow and that ought to be good. And
Tamaki, who ... was ... apparently convinced his roommate was an alien? But he was sweet anyway.
Being back also meant getting to see everyone again. She wondered if
Andrew really thought boobs were evil. She was happy for
Luke's dad and hoped Luke would be, too, eventually. And she'd gotten to see
Ron, Hermione's friend, whose last school was apparently way cooler than she'd realized.
Sokka was the same as ever, although, okay, yeah, she had to admit, he fought way better than she had figured he could. And
Mikey was back! Man, he'd left way back before J--
Yeah. That was going to help her mood. She'd had a class on religion today, and the
teacher probably thought she was crazy, and so did the
neat guy teaching Invention Stuff, and the last thing she needed right now was to think about her ex-Jude-dude.
Engineering. She was totally reading it. And why couldn't she have some kinda engineering class this semester, anyway?
"January sucks," she announced to Petey, who was cheerfully eating her toes.
