Jude poked his head into the alcove. "Bra? I, uh, have a surprise?"

"Hey, hi! There you are!" Rikku looked up and hoped it wasn't way too obvious that she'd been thinking of sneaking off again. But hadn't! Because she was behaving, that's why! "Is it a milkshake? No, milkshakes usually bring me cute boys, not the other way around."

Katara poked her head into the alcove too, not wanting to invade Rikku's space without permission. Or at least give her a chane to give permission before coming in anyway.

"No milkshakes, just me. Hi! Can I come in?"

"Oh! Hi!" Rikku blushed and tried not to facepalm. Okay, she hadn't expected the surprise to be, say, a person, who would overhear her being a dork and flirting with Jude.

"Katara! Come in, sure! I'm just, uh." She gestured vaguely. "Yeah. Hey, you guys got him, yeah? They said Friday but I kinda didn't stick around for details." She shuddered, remembering.

She nodded. "Yeah, he was pulled into the water, and the Halliwells did their spell and then he was gone. It was really easy by the time we got down to it. I think your part was probably harder."

She came in, looking worriedly at Rikku's ankle. "You got hurt though."

Rikku shivered. "It was a bit scarier, but maybe not harder. I mean, we didn't do much. We tried and he just ... no matter how much you hit him he just wouldn't ..." Okay, neither of them needed to hear that bit.

Her eyes flicked to her ankle and back to Katara, and then over to Jude, not quite following. "Y-yeah? No, I mean, it was just ... I wrenched it. It's swollen. I, uh, kinda didn't wanna land on my Godhand. That would've been way worse."

... Was Jude just bringing in people to lecture her about going to the clinic? She was fine, seriously. Okay, maybe not, but still.

Jude perched on the edge of the bed beside Rikku. "Katara might be able to fix it," he said helpfully. "Surprise?"

Rikku looked between the two of them, somewhere between confused and dismayed. "You're ... a Healer? I didn't ..." She fidgeted, but carefully, because stupid ankle. "Yunie could, I mean, she can, but ... you shouldn't be wasting that on ... I just turned it, I'll be fine."

"Well, I'm a waterbender," Katara explained. "And I know how to heal some things with my bending so I could check it out and try." She shook her head. "It's not wasting anything. I can waterbend anytime."

"It's ... not? I just ..." She looked at Jude and then Katara again, still uncertain. "I've had worse, I mean, a lot worse, and ... Yunie would heal, later, but ... you don't just want to use that when you've bruised yourself or hey, something's sore, because it needs to go around, and ... the next time, if she's out and it's something worse, someone else ..."

"But I won't be out as long as I have water," Katara said. "I don't know how your Yunie healed or if she used magic, but this is just a different type of waterbending. I promise, if I thought it was going to be a problem later on, I wouldn't offer now."

Rikku nodded, biting her lip. "Yunie ... Yuna, my cousin. She's a Summoner, so she knows white magic, but ... that also gets used for her summons and her spells, and ... you bend water?"

She looked over at Jude. "How did you know that Katara ... bent water?"

"When my leg was in the cast 'cause of the trolls," Jude replied, his fingers inching towards Rikku's hand. "But you couldn't fix it 'cause of the cast, right?"

Katara nodded in agreement with Jude then set her hands firmly on her hips. "I waterbend because I'm from the Water Tribes in my world. It's our element. And it's really silly to stay hurt if you can be better. So let me see if I can heal it, okay?"

Rikku reached out to lace her fingers through Jude's. "Your tribe has an element? That's really cool. I think the Al Bhed just have a lot of sand." There was a weak smile with that.

She nodded to Katara. "Does it ... hurt?"

She was totally okay with it hurting, just, you know. She'd need to know to brace first.

"Not really," she said. "It just feels strange for a second, but that's the water."

She pulled a flow of water out of the skin slung over her shoulder and held it up so that it formed into a semblance of a glove over her hand. "Ready?" she asked Rikku.
