Summer is here

Wow.

I am home! I am fnially done with school and school-related activities for the summer. Speaking of which, if you know anyone who needs an employee, I could use an employ-er.

So Leadership Camp was a blast. I met/bonded with the greatest group of L-Camp Facilitators that the world has ever known (in my opinion). I made tons of new friends, forged some bonds and hopefully opened up the eyes of about 20 of the 200 H.S. seniors that came to CMU for a few days. (For pictures, see Luis Cadena's Facebook Profile.) It was an amazing time, and I absolutely cannot wait for next May to do it again.

When I went to turn in my key and leave, I had a short conversation with Steely Pegg, L-Camp Student Person in Charge Extrordinaire(or something)...anyway, she put the idea in my head that maybe I could be an Alternative breaks Site leader. Me? I don't know about that. I was planning on going on another break, but putting me in charge of a service project trip across the country, that'a another thing. Diana told me I should about a year ago, too. Two people telling me the same thing kinda lends creedence to the idea. I like that people believe in me.

Anyway, that's enough thinking about next year. It will be great, but it's time to focus on the present, or at least the near future. I am really looking forward to this summer, which is looking more and more like a summer full of personal growth. I plan on reading, learning and getting back in shape. My 14-year-old brother beat me in basketball for crying out loud on the pavement while he asked if I was going to be okay. But seriously, I get winded by just playing a few times down the court with him, so I am going to try (and this is a little drastic, but it has to be done) running. I hope o get out and run the track by the "junior high" (since Clarkston has revamped its schools) at least 3-4 times a week. I hope to get back in shape, but no promises, so don't expect me to look any different when we next see each other (if anyone reads this).

Anyway, things are going great, and Libby is almost back from Spain. This means I'll be able to talk to her more often, which I would absolutely love. I've missed her these past 5 months. Has it only been 5 months? Seems like so much longer since I last saw her. Oh well. I will see her soon enough, at RA traingin in August, if not sooner. I know she's pumped for training. She has been helping people with their problems for free for long enough ;).

Anyway, That is all I have for now.

I hope this post finds you in the best of winded basketball losses and sunburned backs.
