i'm hot as all get out

i normally sort of enjoy summer, but it's been too fucking hot. enough already. was i on crack when i decided living on the top (4th) floor of a non air conditioned apartment was a good idea? yes, we have two window a/c units thank jebus. so basically if we don't want to eat, pee, or use a computer we're fine. i've had to turn off my computer for days at a time for fear of it melting on my desk. i think i'd take a nice blizzard right now.

so, yes, i haven't made a proper post in who knows how long. not that i don't have any thing to talk about. i'm lazy. and hot. and grouchy a lot. but because i know everyone is so interested in what's been going on around here *snarf* here's a super quick update.

- amy and i will be living elsewhere when the lease is up at the end of this month. this apartment (more specifically the landlord) has frustrated us and fucked up too much for it to be worth it anymore. thus, we have been looking for new places that last couple of weeks. i forgot how much fun it is! um. no. we're hoping to have a place really soon. then it's onto packing. another thing i love so much. arg.

- work stinks. yes, it does. no details because i could write a novel. and it probably belongs in a separate post. but now i know what it is like to have a job where most days i don't want to come in, and i simply don't want to be there. i do have a couple possible job opportunities in the pipes, which i won't talk about because i don't want to jinx anything. i am too superstitious.

- we'll be going to one of our best friend's wedding next weekend. in ohio. oh i hope gas prices go down by then. oh hell, i'll wish for a golden ticket too. it should be fun i guess. at least i hope so. it's the only vacation i'll probably be going on this year.

- we are always broke. which does wonders for our relationship! i wonder what it would be like for one of us not to be cranky/stressed/angry/in tears about something. maybe i could set up a paypal account for that.

- books i'm reading/have read: what to eat, by marion nestle; eats, shoots and leaves, by lynne truss; the space odyssey books by arthur c. clarke; strangers in paradise vol. 1, by terry moore; fun home by alison bechdel.

oh hell, i'm too hot to type anymore. my kingdom for a sprinkler and a slip-and-slide!

work, apartment, books, amy
