feh!
well i suppose i should start with the good news. i got my computer over to the apartment! so now both amy and i can do internets and fun stuff. and the router works so we both have high speed internets :)
the crappy news is i again had car issues. saturday night after work amy and i decided to go out for dinner. we went to downtown oak park to one of our favorite restaurants. all was fine and dandy until i got back to the car. i could not turn the key in the ignition no matter how hard we both tried. i've had some periodic problems with it in the weeks leading up to this, but usually if i shoved the key in hard it would be fine. so i called my dad thinking maybe it was just my key that was bad (he has the spare), but of course no go. so i had to leave my car there overnight, after talking to someone in the oak park police who said there was no parking on the street i was on. um hello, i'm parked in front of a row of meters? and in the course of events amy slipped and tweaked her ankle in the process of trying to find someone who had the non-emergency number for the police :(
so my dad called someone and got the car towed to a repair shop close to us. it wasn't ready until this afternoon. and since i had to be at work at noon, i had to take a bus and a train to work. i have nothing against public transportation, but i could have done without the mile and a half or so walk to the store from the train station. i felt like i needed a shower when i got there :P
well the car is fixed. my dad got it for me, and picked me up from work. between the tow and the repairwork, this little episode cost me $500. which is *so* bad timing since we're tight with money as it is since amy is still looking for a job. luckily my dad is very cool and said i can pay him back in installments as i have the money.
so that's all. that is enough excitement for the week, i request the rest be ordinary and mundane please!
