G got the dvd of 'Game of Thrones' (aka 'T*ts and Blood') for his birthday and, 2 eps in, I am already slightly hooked, despite the fact that it is swordy and fantasy-ish and based in made-up-places. I do think it promises to have a rollicking good plot.
It doesn't really do shades of grey, though, does it? I have a feeling that most of the characters are going to fall into one of two categories...
a) brutal and tortured (but in an honorable way);
b) bad to the bone (especially if blonde).
So far I'm finding the posse of young, brunette, sulky-faced men to be barely distinguishable from one another. Meanwhile Lady-One-Expression (Lena Headey) is doing a particularly good job of being hateful, as is the repulsive Prince (Draco Malfoy played by Eminem). Then there is the taller of the Lannister brothers who looks like he's accidentally wormholed his way onto the set while filming an 80s miniseries - and the sleazy, vile, Legolas-haired brother on the Greek Island. So many people to hate!
Ohhhh, but the dogs, My god, they are are goooorgeous!
Well that's as far as I have got.... might post more later.
Is anyone else watching?
