The Matrix: The New Ending?

The Matrix: Path of Neo came out yesterday, inexplicably on every format except for the GameCube. There are two big selling points behind this game. The first is the obvious one: You are Neo, and you get to play through the entire trilogy. The second one is that the Wachowskis Brothers have written a "new ending" to the trilogy's story that is exclusive to the game.

Now, I'm going to put this behind a cut for anyone who is thinking of getting this game for their PC/PS2/Xbox, but the fact of the matter is that I am now fully aware of what the new ending is. It is confirmed through various sources. I have even seen some poor-quality pictures taken off of a TV.

As you would expect, you wind up fighting SuperSmith in the rain, and then... you actually defeat him. Once you do, however, the other Smiths standing in the city streets announce that "That Jesus shit would never work in a video game" (fourth wall! You're breaking the fourth wall!) and they leap together into an amorphous mass. Using their powers, they pull chunks of cars and buildings into them, building a massive Godzilla-sized man-form, and then they take a pair of sunglasses off of a billboard. Form the shape of... a giant conglomerate Smith!

Anyway, then you have to fight giant Smith. Once you beat him, Neo wins and gets to go home alive. And then we cut to the celebration at Zion, where the assembled masses are together in the church, singing - I shit you not - Queen's "We Are The Champions."

Oh, and Trinity's still dead.

I'm not sure if this was intended to be a valid ending or if it was just some kind of a way of saying "fuck you" to anyone who didn't like Revolutions or what.
