From the moment you step off your ship you're welcomed with old, unstable, creaking docks-- wet, sea worn wooden planks giving dangerously beneath your feet.

A leg suddenly appears from one of the tall support beams, and kicks at the encrusted planks. It disappears in a small shower of petals, and a few seconds later Nico Robin jumps deftly from the deck of the Thousand Sunny onto the dreary dock. She turns back to her nakama, shouting that it seems to be stable enough. At least, for now.

"Both are adequate," she shrugged, the fake wings strapped to her back rustling faintly. After a quick glance back to the Thousand Sunny, she said, "It looks like my crew will be awhile. Would you mind escorting me in?"

"Of course" Mello smiled at the woman - well, similar to a smile - and gently nodded "This island looks like it came out from a horror movie, I wouldn't be surprised if something horrific happened" oh, the sarcasm.

Robin laughed. She wasn't afraid, really, since some people would suggest she was the scariest thing on the island anyway. Besides, it was surprisingly nice to just walk with him, so young and full of life. She had the sudden urge to touch him, take his hand or drape her arm about his shoulders. She resisted, though, reminding herself that there was a delicate balance in their relationship, and she didn't want to upset that.
Still...
A sufficiently rocky area of the path provided just enough instability for her high heels to suddenly give way, and she gasped loudly as she fell.

Mello looked at her and automatically his hand reached to help Robin. If it was someone else, he'd leave him fall, smirk wide and cockily make the scene worse, but the blond actually enjoyed Robin's company. He held her hand and arm carefully, to help her stand; his eyes glanced at her shoes. Not a good choice considering the type of island it was. "Good costume, not practical enough, tho"

It may have been her imagination, but she thought for an instant that the long, thin tail of the costume flicked victoriously.
"Mm," Robin agreed, "It's certainly only for the confident." She glanced at their still entwined hands and allowed her gaze to travel up his arm and to his eyes.
"Thank you," she said, circling her thumb softly over his wrist.

"Hm" he replied. Actually he ignored the thumb, even if he felt it; mostly because this was Robin and things never got anywhere close to "something more" (and after Akito stalked her around just to push her away from Mello, he really though she didn't think the trouble was worth it). Slowly he started pulling his hand away.

"Playing a spoilsport tonight, hm?" she jibed, though the tone of her voice made it obvious she was teasing.
