Interpretations.

I've been having a lot of dreams lately, and while none of them have been "nightmares" per se, they've definitely not been happy either. What's up with that?

Last night's dream is so far the only one I've recalled with clarity. It involved me. Getting married. Yup. That's right. A happy occasion, one would think, except that in my dream, I was spending time with my family when all of the sudden, someone said, "Amy! It's time to get ready for the wedding!" And I had exactly one hour to don a wedding dress, do my hair, put on make-up, and get to the church. MARATHON TIME!

Things got stalled though after I'd put on my pantyhose, heels, and veil. I had to use the bathroom, you see. The wedding planner told me I didn't have any time, but I knew I wasn't going to be able to hold it through the ceremony if I had to use the bathroom now, so I dismissed his warnings and went searching for the bathroom. Running around in heels wasn't fun and the bathroom I found was ridiculously far away, so I returned to my dressing room only to discover that there was a public bathroom right next to it. Elated, I entered only to find that they were all squatting toilets only. Pantyhose + heels + veil + squatting toilets = Well, you all have imaginations so I'll spare you the imagery.

The only good thing to come out of this experience was that I befriended two women in the bathroom as they helped me put myself back together. (No idea who they were.) The clock was ticking as we finished up. By this point, I'd miraculously donned my wedding dress as well. But as I raced out the bathroom door, I remembered, "Make-up!" And quickly stopped to put that on. By now, the hour had come and gone, and I was still stuck in the bathroom. Half my brain was telling me to hurry, the other half was cursing myself for not having started the preparations earlier.

The next thing I knew, I was hearing my mother over the loudspeaker. She said, "Hello? Is Amy in the house? Has anyone seen a bride running around? Amy, this is your mother, where are you? You're late, the guests are getting restless, and the groom is wondering if he's been left at the altar."

And then I woke up, too afraid to fall back asleep and fall back into my dream.
