A Procrastinative Author

Jan 12, 2008 20:22

I used to be inspired during the the most inconvenient times: in class, while studying for exams, while writing a paper. Because of that, a friend once teased that I wrote best when procratinating. I think she's right!

In the past two years, I've really struggled with my writing. It's turned into something of a chore, rather than something I'm desperately trying to find time to do. At one point, I feared my imagination and inspiration had left me. It was as if my well had dried up.

But, for the past two years, I also haven't had to study for anything, prepare for anything, or attend any classes. In short, I've had nothing to avoid. Until today.

For seven hours, I sat in the back row and alternated between listening to the lecture and writing. I don't think I've had such a productive writing session in a long while! I'm even pleased to report that I got a substantial amount of work done on my next chapter of MB. Perhaps I should find more things to procrastinate about . . . ;)
