One Day More
Tomorrow is my last day at my job. Five years. When I started, it was just a temporary job. My first legal experience for the summer after my first year of law school. Who knew I'd stay so long?
Today was my surprise party. And what a surprise it was! They got me good. There was the obligatory cake. And they sent me off with a very nice pen. My SP had a family emergency, and so wasn't able to attend, so R (my former supervisor) gave a speech in her stead. I had to say some words of thanks as well, and gosh . . . I don't know what I said! I hate when all eyes are turned on me. But it was a very nice send-off, and very much appreciated.
It's going to feel weird on Monday, reporting to a different office, different job, and not seeing my friends. This will truly be the hardest part of leaving. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not moving to the ends of the universe, and that we will see each other again. But gosh, it's going to be hard not sharing those daily jokes and stories with each other. Wah.
