When I got to work this morning, the document review system wasn't functioning properly. They decided to shut the server down for maintenance at 12:30 pm and see if that would fix it. Meanwhile, it was only 11:15 am and what were we to do?
Fortunately, I'm not the only attorney in the depository this week. B, who comes up about every other week and with whom I've become very good friends, decided to take K, the new guy, and me on the
Staten Island Ferry. It's a gorgeous day and we sat outside, watched the seagulls fly by and planes write advertisements in the sky, then we turned right around and rode the ferry back.
We were on the train when an email came announcing that the system was back up, but we decided to continue on to Little Italy anyway. Pizza and ceasar salad for lunch - woohoo! It's 3 pm and our workday's just starting. We could get used to this. ;)
ETA: I think I'm paying for my morning of fun with a bad allergy attack now. *sigh*
ETA 2: I swear, between B (who's from South Carolina) and K (who's from Alabama), I'm going to start talking in a southern accent . . .
