read manga here I'm working with a broken keyboard, so bear with me
First off, if you're at least thirty, you may have already heard about
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and their consistent storyline (ranging from 20 years ago). Technically, the series should have ended after Stardust Crusaders because Dio finally dies but apparently now we got the part afterwards which follows Joseph's bastard son, Josuke Higashikata.
By this time, Joseph is like 79 or something which means he was fucking at 63 and Josuke's mom is kinda cute looking in the young way.
Ew.
Well, other than making Joseph Joestar looking like a pedophile infidel, we're introduced to his other kid, Josuke Higashikata, who is like 16 or 17 or something who eventually meets his nephew, Jotaro (who's like 30).
Josuke is a cool kid, though, not really much of a rabble rouser unless you diss his hair (I was gonna say "dis da 'do" but no one would understand). The thing is, when he was a kid, he was trapped in a car or something and was suffering from a fever, and some unnamed and unseen teenager sporting said hairstyle saves him and his mom. Out of respect, Higashikata sports the hairstyle. If one were to diss the hairstyle, then you're (in a sense, in 'essence') dissing the guy that saved his life those years ago, and he takes that personally and comes to blows. Which isn't hard considering he's one-a the tallest people in Morioh-cho (somewhere in Japan, apparently).
Well, while everyone's chilling and stuff, we learn that there's an outbreak of stand users in Morioh and Josuke's one of them. Higashikata stereotypically wants nothing to do with the stand war but finds himself being a part of it after learning that a lone stand user killed his grandfather and such...the fights begin.
First off, I didn't like how the main character had to be the bastard child of Joseph, I mean, couldn't he have been Josuke's brother or something, man, I like Joseph (currently reading Battle Tendency) and you turn him into a dick...well, a dickier dick.
I like how there's not much in here referring to Dio, so it gives us a chance to read something jojo related and not mark out for a dio reference (seriously, everything else had something to do with Dio, whether it was the stone mask or whatever).
I thought the overload of protagonists was kinda "ehh" but with a common number of antagonists, it seemed to make sense. I also didn't like how all Josuke had to do was beat up some of them and they automatically go to the good side, seems kinda like they went to the good side out of fear for Josuke and part of me doesn't agree with that. It also downplayed a lot of people...like the guy that uses Surface, he should have been part of the main cast simply because his stand is kinda beastly.
I didn't like Kira too much either, he was a man trying to pursue a simple life but was womanizing and killing women just so he can jerk off with their freshly severed hands...you sick bastard! Araki had to have went to a dark place to make that guy but, it was good to see him get that ass whooped by Jotaro (because for some reason, Josuke didn't kill anyone). On the side note, I didn't like Hirose simply because of the same reason I didn't like Emporio off of
part six, you just got that whiny kid sidekick that's useful but annoying at the same time...maybe if he had glasses, I wouldn't have speed read through the him v. Tsuji battle.
As far as the series go, it's good in it's own right and I consider it to be a little PG (despite the sick antagonist) but that's because not a lot of people get killed, just get punched to oblivion. It's still chock full of action and comedy and supernaturalness that I can compare to things like DBZ but don't be looking for Dio up in here...he ain't in.
This ain't one of my best reviews, i'll admit, but read the series, it's not bad
