Patsy only felt a small twinge of jealousy as Danni talked to everyone except Patsy, talking about gifts. She was too old to expect presents, she knew it, but she'd known Danni longer than these kids and suddenly they were her favorite people? Patsy looked away and into her breakfast, eating her fruit and trying to stop thinking about it. She was only making herself feel like a completely jealous cow, it was unbecoming, and besides, if Kerry could hear her thoughts he'd be completely turned off and run away. The last thing Patsy wanted to do was to make Kerry think poorly of her.
No one had spoken of their plans for the day she realized, clearing her throat and glancing at Kerry sideways. He was looking away from her, a blank look on his face. Nudging him softly with her elbow, she gave him an innocent smile, as if she hadn't noticed a thing, "How about you? Any plans for the day?" She was being quite forward, but heck, they had gotten closer, hadn't they? She could talk to him like a friend, he was a friend, wasn't he? Looking back to her bowl, Patsy picked at the fruit as if it was the most important thing to pick just the right piece to go in her mouth next.
Willow watched the strange interaction between Patsy and Kerry and actually smiled. It was nice to see him look so happy, after all these years of looking so dour and serious, now he was, well she could tell he was genuinely happy. It made her feel better even.
Danni's arrival also got Willow feeling a bit perkier, but the mention of gifts made her blush and look shocked. "Oh, that was nice of you Danni, we don't really need gifts, everyone here has given us so much already, I mean," she glanced at Kerry then to Moon before looking at Danni again. "We'd feel bad, taking something for not doing anything," it wasn't entirely true, each of them had a talisman from an Eco that had taken them under their wing during their time with them, but they had helped so much, it was just different. She instantly felt bad, what was the saying? Don't look a gift box, in the...mouth? No.. "But thank you, it was very thoughtful of you," she added, smiling shyly and looking back down at her food. She'd said that all wrong, she didn't mean to sound ungrateful, why had she even opened her mouth?
Ignoring the general conversation around him, Kerry felt a nudge in his side and Patsy leaning in to ask him what he was doing today. Why? What was her deal? Did she want to spend time with him or something? Why was he freaking out? "Uhhh," he barely got out, looking around at the people at the table, had they noticed? Did they care?
Darting his gaze to Patsy, Kerry just shook his head, "No, I don't think so, oh, well I have to wash up from, some meal, I don't know. I did dinner dishes yesterday so that means I do the lunch dishes today, right?" Kerry shrugged and took another bite, as if it all really didn't matter that much. His heart was pounding in his ears, what did he expect? He wanted Patsy to ask him out or something? To suggest they go somewhere together? But where? He couldn't exactly go off to the cinema with her or something.
Luckily he caught wind of what his sister was saying and felt kind of confused, and kind of shocked. Was she looking a gift horse in the mouth? She knew better than that, she sounded entirely ungrateful, but of what? Looking up at Danni, Kerry's eyebrows moved and he looked kind of put off. "Hey Danni, yeah it's very thoughtful of you, thank you," he didn't know what he was thanking her for though. "What, um..wait, what's going on?"
