Breakfast P.1: Extra Cafe: Trudy and Mouse

May 20, 2005 19:02

"Good Morning Mouse," Trudy was a bit more chipper than she had been when she'd woken up, glad now to see someone show up for breakfast. She had begun to think that no one was going to wake up this morning, and that all of this food would be wasted. At least they had refridgeration, so the fruit could last a bit longer, but still, for her to get ( Read more... )

Moon had only time to smile sympathetically at Willow before a cheerful-looking Kerry arrived. Despite not having been formally introduced, Moon knew him from the plate-washing incident yesterday, and she blushed a little at the memory of what she'd said in anger.

"Hello Kerry," Moon forced a polite smile, but the boy was already tucking into his bowl of fruit. When he laughed suddenly and asked if "anyone else" wanted a bowl(meaning Moon, of course - the insinuation irritated her just a little), Moon was just about to say that she'd get her own portion when a bowl and fork appeared before her.

As she looked round in surprise she saw Patsy sitting down next to her, and it took her a few moments to register before she shuffled her chair round to give the girl some more room.

"Oh, um, thank you, you are very kind," Moon said, the surprise still evident in her voice. She didn't know the last time when someone - who she hardly knew - had made a small yet thoughtful gesture like that. Except... yesterday, when Danni had brought some food to her room.

Moon picked up her fork and started to eat as she contemplated this, her irritation forgotten. Again she was surprised at how these Mallrats were just so different from any other Tribe she'd come across - they really did seem to look out for each other, regardless of how well they knew one another.

Danni wandered into the cafe and saw the person that she most wanted to see in the world, Moon, but now was not the time to express this. Instead she gave Moon a warm smile, as a friend would, trying to remember her mantra earlier about not being so full on with Moon and being more relaxed. It probably wouldn't work, but she had to at least give it a go. Grabbing a bowl od fruit, Danni joined Moon and Ryan's kids, glad to see them all together as it felt like ages since any of them had spoken. She had felt like she had bonded with them during their journey here and it would be a shame to let that go.

"Morning everyone." Danni said, with a warm and welcoming smile. "Hope you all slept well. How are you finding the Mall, now that you've had a chance to settle in? Hope everything's okay. Oh...." Danni remembered the presents that were still in her room from her trip to the market, the trip where herself and Moon had first started to get to know each other...."I got you all a little something from the market, as my way of saying welcome. I'll hand your presents out later, or just pop by and see me later. I just thought it would be nice..." Danni blushed slightly, realising she was probably making a bit of a fuss, but it would be nice for people other than Ryan and Salene as the parental figures to be friendly and welcoming. "It's nothing special, just a few little things..." Danni tailed off, and looked at Moon hoping to briefly make eye contact with her.
