Breakfast P.1: Extra Cafe: Trudy and Mouse

May 20, 2005 19:02

"Good Morning Mouse," Trudy was a bit more chipper than she had been when she'd woken up, glad now to see someone show up for breakfast. She had begun to think that no one was going to wake up this morning, and that all of this food would be wasted. At least they had refridgeration, so the fruit could last a bit longer, but still, for her to get ( Read more... )

Mouse peered over the counter at all the fruit that Trudy had cut up. It all looked and smelled very good causing her stomach to grumble. "I am! I missed dinner because I fell asleep. But Salene read me a good book. I don't think there was fruit in it though..." Mouse tapped her chin thoughtfully, completely forgetting about breakfast for a moment. "Salene and Ryan are sorta up. Salene said she had to talk to Ryan, thats why I had to leave. Are they talking about," Mouse lowered her voice, "grown up stuff?" Mouse gave Trudy a secretive look. Then smiled, "but Salene said she'd be up soon ( ... )

Patsy came into the cafe smiling. She was still a little weirded out by how Kerry was acting around her, but yesterday she had attended a wedding a handstamd ceremony, her whole tribe was together, and she had nothing to complain about, and decided to try being in a good mood from the start. Her mood increased as she checked the chore rota to discover that she seemed to have the day off. There was the trial, though, and Patsy was saddened to think that they had to have one.

"Good morning Trudy. Good morning Mouse. No one else is up yet? I thought it sounded quiet."

Anna walked up the stairs slowly from Willow and Flower's room. Her head ached with each step and she hoped that eating might help with the pain. If not, they did have a hospital in the mall, which probably had pain killers. When they entered the kitchen, Anna was pleased to see that a few other people were up and moving around.

"Morning Trudy, Mouse, Patsy." She tried to smile brightly at the trio gathered around preparing breakfast. Fresh fruit sounded pretty good to Anna. They never had nearly enough fresh food when they'd lived in the woods, and it was nice that the mall had a better selection of food. They'd walked in on the tail end of Patsy's comment. "Its not usually this quiet in the morning?" Anna tried to remember what it had been like the first morning after they'd arrived. The day seemed very far away to Anna.

"Ahh yes, Brady fell asleep before dinner too, I'm surprised she didn't come skipping in here demanding to be fed first thing," Trudy cocked her head to the side and considered this. Ever since the virus they hadn't always had constant meals, when Brady had been a baby it had been hard to keep up with her needs, since supplies were so limited and Trudy wasn't able to breast feed. This thought made her blush, she might have been able to, but she didn't care to try, she'd been such a foolish girl back then ( ... )

"I will Trudy!" Flower called brightly, running off in the direction of the cooler she'd seen people take pitchers out of yesterday. Mouse was not there, however, and Flower just shrugged and opened the door to take out a pitcher of water, she'd find Mouse along the way and leave this...well somewhere.

Flower was in decidedly better spirits now, since Willow had apologized, Flower couldn't resist her when she made those big blue eyes look so sad. Having hugged her before skipping off to breakfast together, Flower was back to her bouncy self, though she did still feel kind of really exhausted from it all, and her eyes kinda hurt from having cried, but it'd pass.

Heading towards the Main Cafe, Flower ran into Mouse, "Hihi!" she cried brightly, smiling bigger than needed, "I've got this pitcher of water, where should I put it?"

Flower may have been put instantly back into a good mood by Willow's smile and hug, but Willow was still feeling like there were a million feet inside of her pressing on everything wrong at all of the wrong moments. Climbing the stairs had been especially yucky, hurting from front to back, she wanted to lay down at the top of the stairs and relax but opted instead to at least make it to a chair in the Extra Cafe, in the back, where she could watch what was going on in the kitchen and stuff.

She was glad that Flower offered to help out Mouse, watching her run off before laying her arms on the table top and putting her head on them. She felt wrung out, and only slightly hungry. Looking out at her sister and the other people of her Tribe, Willow wanted to ask what was for breakfast, but she didn't have the motivation or the strength to raise her voice loud enough. She'd just have to wait then, she'd find out soon enough.

Moon wandered into the Cafe, wondering if she was too early for breakfast. She had woken a while earlier, but she had not risen immediately, rather enjoying a few minutes of peace before her brain had woken up completely. The first thing that had entered her mind was being on the balcony with Danni, not last night, but the night of the Hen Party - it still seemed the biggest event, the turning point, and every memory took its foundation from that moment.

Looking around the cafe, Moon saw Mouse and Flower busily getting breakfast ready, and, hungry as she was, Moon was just about to go and see if she could lend a hand too when she noticed Willow slouched at a table at the back - she didn't look very well. Moon made her way over to her and sat down, reaching out and touching her arm gently.
"Willow... are you alright?"
