"I...." Danni faltered, she didn't know if she could make eye contact with Moon while trying to explain herself. She didn't know what she might see there, and was still scared of seeing rejection. "I needed some time... to think." Danni looked down to her hand against Moons arm. It trailed down her skin and took her hand, an attempt to reassure Moon that everything was still okay. "I was just reminded of something earlier, something a bit painful..." That part at least was true. Every time she saw Luke she felt the urge to check the scar on her head. Having Luke live in the Mall made her experiences a little too real again, and Danni really didn't know if she would ever be comfortable with him here. "I just needed to deal with it my own way." Danni said, trying to give Moon a reassuring smile.

Moon smiled softly in response, and took Danni's cold hand beween her own, rubbing it gently, coaxing warmth back into the girl's fingertips. The worries that had gnawed at her were subsiding a little now. Even though she could sense something was amiss, she reasoned that Danni wouldn't be standing here holding her hand if she didn't want to be. Relaxing a fraction, Moon looked at the balcony, and her eyes, now adjusted to the darkness, could make out the outline of the watering can which was now getting rained on.
"You were, uh, watering the plants?" said Moon, her lips curling into a little smile at the irony as she changed the subject of conversation.

"Is everything alright with you?" Danni asked, hopig to take away the focus from herself. Also, as much as she hated to admit it to herself, she wanted to know if Moon had anything to say about Luke.
