Secretly glad to leave the scene in the
Main Cafe behind, Tai-San would have preferred it be for other reasons, but this was what it was. Siva had run off from the Extra Cafe perhaps, the last place Tai-San had seen her sitting, and now Lex was going off on Gel and storming off to the Second Cafe. She walked past him, pacing back and forth once or twice and glancing over at May. This wasn't helping, she had to calm down. Being angry would only make things worse and worse was the LAST thing she needed right now. Finally stopping her pacing, Ebony took a deep breath with her backs turned to everyone else, glancing upward and counting to three silently before turning back around. She was calmer now, still seething, but less explosive. Part of her wanted to be in the hospital when Tai-San woke up so she could do damage control, but in a way, that might look suspicious. Besides that, she really didn't want to see Tai-San lying unconscious, knowing she'd tried to murder her. In the end, the desire to be there in case Tai-San said anything damaging won out and Ebony slowly walked back over to Jay. Her gaze fell back on his bandaged hands, noting that if Jay had refused to carry Tai-San because he didn't think he'd be able to, he must have hurt them worse than she'd thought. "You should let Patch have a look at this after he's finished with Tai-San." Ebony made sure to cut him off before Jay could say anything to the contrary. "And no arguing. I really don't want to have to fight with you too." The words themselves would have seemed blunt and catty but they were said with an edge of care that helped ease the rough edge off them. "Come on. I'll go with you."

Watching as Dax and Alice took Tai San to the hospital, she waited for a few moments before she would follow them. As Salene spoke about Dax, she nodded in understanding, very thankful that once all this was figured out, Dax would be free for the night. Meeting Ebony’s look, she shrugged a bit. “ Don’t worry about it, Ebony. It was an accident.” May nodded then started on her way to the hospital. Twice in one day, not a good record.

There were so many people giving orders that Jay felt even more useless, but at the same time he was glad that there were other people who could handle matters when he was unable to do so. He watched Ebony's reaction to the whole scene, and her regret over what had happened was clearly evident to him. Why couldn't everyone else see it? The more that he saw of her care and concern the more convinced he became that it really had been an accident. She was nearly beside herself with worry, and when she started for the hospital he quickly followed. If only there were something that he could do to make her feel better...
