She sniffled once and swallowed the lump in her throat down, "I guess I am hungry," she got out in a small voice, her arms moving from the folded up space between them to wrap around his warm body, holding him close, the musky scent that always smelled so good to her making her sigh, calming her, reminding her that she was lucky, and safe, and everything was really ok. Pulling back she forced a tight smile, her eyes darting away as she knew it was false, unable to look into his deep eyes without the tears springing to hers.
She would prefer to stay locked away, of course, but it would only lead to tears she didn't want to cry tonight, it would only support that fear that was nesting in her worries. Besides, she wanted to come out and show her support for Amber and Bray, she didn't want them to think she was angry or upset or holding some kind of old grudge or something. Trudy had changed, honestly, and anyway she had Hawk now. Turning away from him, Trudy took Hawk's hand and led him out of her bedroom, straight to the Extra Cafe for dinner.
