Luke felt a particular spring to his step as he left the kitchen where Alice and Ellie were finishing up with dinner. He had invited Ellie to stay with him tonight and she'd accepted, and even though he knew she'd be working all night, it would feel good to have her so close to him. Maybe she'd stay tomorrow night too, and the night after... Shaking his head, Luke realized he was thinking too far forward, it was enough that she wanted to be so near to him, there was no use in pressing his luck. It dawned on him, halfway between the kitchen and the landing on the stairs, that he'd forgotten to tell Ellie and Alice that he'd invited Moon to share dinner with them. Ah well, nevermind, they won't mind, I know they won't, he thought to himself, coming to a stop at the railing, looking over the crowd gathered below.
They all looked as if they were in a state of shock, or confusion, he almost felt bad for clearing his throat and interrupting the quiet conversation, the inner reflections. "I ah," he began, scanning the crowd and smiling ever so slightly at Moon when he caught sight of her. "Dinner is served, everyone," he announced easily, watching them all for a second. Turning away, Luke walked back up the stairs and found Ellie and Alice in the Extra Cafe, putting the warm dishes out on the serving area of the counter, the place where most food was served. "I've ah, I asked Moon to join us for dinner, Ellie, and you too Alice, if you'd like? I thought, it'd be nice, she needs to make more friends, and she's a Mall Rat now. You don't mind, do you Ellie?"
