Our Hero make a return.

Here we go again. For those who may or may not remember, I wrote a story about Our Hero a few years ago, not long after the breakup with Celeste. Now I've done it again, this time dealing with Annette, Rachel, my new friends, and gripping paranoia.

Our Hero stood at the edge of the all-familiar canyon. He watched as the bridge she once stood on burned and fell into the Great Below. He was sad to see it go, but it wouldn't be missed. The bridge was burned by a false ally, a Wolf in sheep's clothes. The Wolf snarled at the fire while shes stood next to him. The Wolf approached Our Hero, and he simply walked away. The fire singed his wings, but he knew he would heal. He walked back into the forest, unaware that he was being followed.

In the forest Our Hero met a group of friends. He spoke with them, they seemed warmed by his presence. Then he locked eyes with one of them. They pierced his soul. Our Hero could not hide from her. Luckily, he managed to get her alone. Our Hero spread his glorious, white wings and she seemed nothing short of impressed. Our Hero liked being impressive. However, she turned and showed Our Hero a Burn on her chest. It was deep, it would take time to heal. He walked up to embrace her, and was stopped dead in his tracks. The Darkness that followed him gripped Our Hero and pulled him to his knees. Our Hero knew the Darkness was of his creation, and he sobbed as it surrounded him.

She marched through the Darkness and showed him her hand. She was offering her hand as a friend, but it was still hers. Our Hero took her hand and stood. As he looked around, the others had entered the Darkness as well. They knew Our Hero created the Darkness and they approached anyways. They stood in it while everyone else avoided it. Our Hero felt accepted, almost loved. He knew the Darkness could subside, and he knew they were there to help. It was still there, and it may never leave. However, for the first time, Our Hero felt like He controlled It.

He once again approached her. He looked at her and saw a lot of value. He respected her, and he knew there was something special. However, with her Burn and his Darkness, it would go nowhere. He watched the Burn begin to heal. It still has a ways to go, and she has warned him that she may not still be there when it does. Our Hero sees the risk and the return, and sees something worth waiting for.

Our Hero stands proud and tall, waiting for the Burn to heal.
