Just posting this because I found it interesting. I don't agree with all of it, but I think it's a good thing for thought.
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=200013603343451&id=116929948332961 I agree that some people really need to do their research before getting an animal or else they need to understand that all quirks about that animal are their responsibility. I honestly do not understand the intrigue about pitbulls, etc. They have a terrible rep and some people act all shocked when they turn mean. Yes, some can be nice and grow up well-mannered, but most people don't raise them that way and so their mean personality comes out. :/
However, I don't agree that it's wrong to say 'We can't have pets where we are going'. To be honest, in Moundsville nearly all of the apartment buildings I called didn't allow cats or any pets. This apartment barely allowed them! So it's unfair to say this because honestly it can be difficult to find a pet-friendly place.
However, we will definitely teach our kids how to be kind and thoughtful about animals. Laura, Ruka's niece, is so cruel to animals. She doesn't kill them or anything, but she's rough and mean to them. I have no doubt she'll turn out like her parents who could care less about hurting an animal if it's pissing them off. Sad.
