Out of curiosity
I counted how many of my 76 livejournal friends post with any frequency these days. For the moment I'm ruling out webcomics and anything else with an LJ feed.
The answer? Fewer than 20. If I restrict the list to that slightly narrower circle of posters whom I prefer to see all the time (Oh, don't tell me I'm the only one out there who uses filters on his flist sometimes) it's more like twelve.
And of course my own frequency is down. It's hard to disentangle age/period/cohort effects here, but that's a pretty steep drop over the years.
