I've now been at the job one week. I didn't really know what to expect, since I met none of the people there at the interview, nor was told where or really what I'd be doing. As an Assistant Trust Officer (ATO), I help the TOs keep the clients happy (sound familiar?) In this case, my company is the actual trustee for the clients, so for most of them, we pay all their bills, send them requested money, if allowed, listen to their problems, and have accountants and lawyers on staff if needed. The verdict so far is Quiet. There is only three of us there (another ATO is out on extended sick leave), and they have started the process of walling off the brokers, so it should get even quieter. I experienced an Office Space moment when they told me that during the construction my cubicle would be reduced by half. I felt the need to clutch my stapler close. I've decided to start driving the wife's car, so it doesn't keep costing $32/day to go to work.
In other news, spent the weekend relaxing in Oldenfeld with the squire and friends. Fine time. I relaxed more than usual, because I was pretty run down. Friday, I had a mild scare while brushing the teeth; spit up black gunk. At first I considered the possibility that I'm the Devil (it is conceivable); but instead went to the doctor and found out it is probably my gall bladder. More answers in a couple weeks, after more tests.
Finally, last night, before they picked up a bunch of our furniture for the upcoming yard sale, Mr. & Mrs. Ashe-Glass invited us to a kick-ass evening of Roller Derby! I need to get me some of that. Special skaters of note; Punkin' Pi, Eva Lynn Tint, and Spank Sinatra. Thanks ladies!
