Long weekend

So, this weekend I broke my brain studying nothing but Biochemistry for our year long cumulative must pass final today, and unfortunately it was overkill, because I did not need to study that much. I'd rather overwork for something than underwork, but I freaking killed this test. It was 110 questions of all kinds, over three hours, and I was gone in 60 minutes because I freaking flew through the test. It could have been fill in the blanks for all the answers and I still would have gotten the 80 I was shooting for, which would give me an Honors for the course. As it is I got a 97%, so I was psyched, and blew that course (which is our biggest course of the whole year) out of the water.

After that I went to my grandfather's to spend the day with him. We had some delicious as always Cosi for lunch, and then went to see The Reader, which I would give 40 wings. It wasn't bad, but it was sort of slow, fairly dismaying, alarmingly naked, and ABSURDLY SERIOUS. It was a very adult movie, and the truth is that I'm still not sure that I'm mature enough to really sit through those types of movies (says the man whom in 16 months will be treating patients). But it was good on a number of levels, and was the Oscar type film you'd expect this time of year. And Kate Winslett, although not done up to any degree, is fairly hot, and naked alot.

After that we hung out and watched Back to the Future back at his place, and then my dad took us out to grab some burgers and wings for dinner, which was good but that damn Heart Surgeon is just so focused on his job I always feel like he's not really there. But it was good to see him anyway. And my grandpa called me gay several times and made me laugh, which was good.

I stuck around and watched House and Heroes at his place, which are sort of lame now, and then headed back here. The nice thing about my apartment is that I've been able to hack into a really slow internet connection here, so I've been able to get internet at home, which has quickly depleted my rations (shelow knows) and also been the distraction I knew it would be- I've been really into How I met your Mother and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles lately, and need it to stop. But the great thing is that I can quickly get lecture videos at home instead of being at school and worrying about computer access, meals and other distractions. tomorrow I'm skipping my classes and using the day to catch up majorly on lectures from Thursday, friday and yesterday, especially gross anatomy, because our next test is a week from now and I need to catch up.

Four courses are done, two honors and two highly satisfactory's, so I'm just ready to get back on a regular schedule and definitely ready for York. There's been some other stuff that's been dividing my attention lately, for good and for bad, but the best part is that everyone at the school says February is the worst month, especially the start, and that now it gets back to a more manageable level. I'm determined to Honor Micro, which I have a 91 in now, and especially Honor Gross, which I have a 95 in, and that's also due to the fact that the more Medical school I go through, the more I think I'm leaning towards surgery rather than medicine.

I think that'll be it for now. I am
