Grab A Book

Jun 19, 2007 17:36

Found this at mad_reflections and I thought it was fun, so...

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next three sentences in your journal along with these instructions
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.
6. Tag five other people to do the same.

I don´t know how that “tagging” is supposed to work, but I hope Maho and katastro_fee will at least join.

So, and here´s the sentences from my book:

For one thing, the room was too damn hot.
It made you sleepy.
At Pencey, you either froze to death or died of the heat.

- “The Catcher in the Rye” by J.D. Salinger -

Well, the sentences are really short, but it´s a great book. I read it for the first time this weekend and was hardly able to put it away.
It´s one of my latest books. I ordered it with "Franny and Zooey" (also by Salinger) and "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks on Friday at the book store and got them on Saturday. I started reading "The Catcher in the Rye" at once, tough I´m currently reading "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". I only wanted to read like the first pages, just to know how it is, but then I couldn´t stop until I finished it on Sunday night.
