32.1 13 Addictions/Obsessions You Have

1. Morning coffee. Who doesn’t have to have coffee to function? No one in my line of work that I know of.
2. The radio. If I don’t get my share of music in regularly, I feel off. Usually it’s the local rock station or the station that plays a mix of rock, 80s pop and current hits.
3. Crime novels. Never used to read them before I moved to New York. I blame Doc Rodgers. …it is fun to point out inconsistencies.
4. Hiking. Not something I’ve done very often since moving to the City, but I used to go on hikes and walks pretty regularly back in Maryland. I’ve made up for it by trying to explore NYC when I can.
5. Knitting. I used to hate it and thought it was dowdy, but I find myself making socks an awful lot lately (…maybe for lack of anything better to do).
6. Work. I’ve never thought of myself as a workaholic…but I guess I am sort of addicted to my line of work and the people I meet because of it.
7. Card games, excepting poker (I have a terrible poker face). I like gin rummy on a rainy day or even old-fashioned, non-computerized Solitaire.
8. Classic movies. “It Happened One Night” and “Some Like it Hot” are two of my favorites.
9. Classic novels and short stories - from Jane Eyre to Sleepy Hollow. I also like a lot of stuff from the Lost Generation - Eliot and Fitzgerald are longtime favorites.
10. Alcohol, specifically scotch and beer.
11. Interesting or intriguing men, especially when I know better.

12. Mike Kellerman. We just keep crashing back into each other…Even now…when I haven’t seen him since-taking the leave of absence-even now, I know that if we saw each other again, we’d be right back to where we were. …maybe that’s why I’m avoiding it.
13. Joey Heric. I can tell myself over and over that I have to let it go - that there’s nothing I can do for Tim - but I can’t get over it. Even if he never pays for what he’s done, I will never stop thinking about it.
