❧ bloodlust, locked to roadswept

When she awoke, not even sure what time it was; hell, it could have been midday for all she knew and she'd be none the wiser. But when she did wake up, Doris felt an intense pain course through her lower abdomen, making her curl up in the bed, groaning softly. Trying to remember whether it was something she ate or lack thereof, Doris wasn't sure. The more she thought about it, the more pain she felt. Kicking off the sheets in a huff, she sat up, feet planted firmly atop the red plush carpet and rested her forearms atop her thighs. Taking deep breaths, she hung her head, hair curtaining her face, she continued to inhale deeply, nostrils flaring as this eased the pain, somewhat.

A low grunt was all she could muster as she stood up and headed to the bathroom. D wasn't in the room, which didn't surprise her. For whatever reason, whenever she woke up, his presence was always missing in the spot next to her in bed. The room was small, as any hotel room should be, so looking for him would be a waste of time since there were no hidden doors or passageways that lead to secret grottos or hideaways. Not that she cared, really. With D around, there was little she had to worry about now, and whatever she did worry about was out of her hands. If it was up to her, she would be out there, trying to find a way back home.

Opening the door to the bathroom, she left it slightly ajar just in case D wanted to know where she had gone, and got the bath running. She was in no real mood to get dressed, though cleaning herself off was a definite must. Shedding her nightgown, she tossed it to the ground and stepped into the tub, the hot water soothing against her tired body. Her muscles complained from the lack of strain and work she had been missing since coming here, and she already felt herself gaining more weight than she would have liked, but when there were no monsters to kill or Nobles to run from, in her case, her lack of will to remain in shape seemed to evaporate. With D here, all she really wanted was to be with him whenever possible.

Sighing into the water, Doris relaxed her overly tired body. She seemed too relaxed as the pain in her stomach was gone, replaced with a slight burning sensation coursing through her sex. Sitting up and looking down, she saw streams of blood seeping out from the junction between her legs. A small smile, though a little ironic, was in place. She certainly wasn't pregnant.
