Christmas - No Event//BYOA

Ion was in the kitchen, which smelled of freshly baked goods even though it was still fairly early in the morning. The replica had been working on something special for the few people precious to him that he knew were still in the hotel. Among those was a gingerbread house, which was what he was currently working on ( Read more... )

Kaiba awoke to the sound of his stomach growling. Groggily, he found some clothes, brushed his teeth, and went across the hall to find the source of the delicious smell. He hesitated before knocking, then did so anyway. Had to eat sometime.

Eating some now. ^^ We'll see then. And Merry Christmas. frailestreplica December 26 2011, 05:48:49 UTC
Ion blinked at the door when he heard the knock, because no one ever knocked. But he didn't mind company. "It's unlocked, " he called out, adding incing to the top of the walls so the roof to his gingerbread house could be added.

Merry Christmas! Tho christmas is over here :P halfgodhalfking December 26 2011, 07:07:49 UTC
Good. A young voice probably meant someone weaker than him. It seemed most people here had some kind of power, but were generally less violent than they appeared. Hopefully this kid wasn't an exception. Kaiba cautiously entered.

Ditto here now. ^^ But it's the thought that counts. frailestreplica December 26 2011, 07:18:18 UTC
It was most certainly the case. Ion had special abilities, but was both too fragile to safely use them and non-confrontational by nature. He was fine sharing the kitchen with another, so long as no harm came of it.

Wide green eyes watched the taller boy as he entered, and Ion offered a smile. "Good morning."

Kaiba was only 4 or 5 years older than the other boy but he felt like the difference was much greater. Maybe it was because he missed his little brother, Mokuba, that he felt so much more well-disposed towards this boy than he'd felt towards others at the hotel. The cake helped too. "Good morning,"he said stiffly.

Not bothered by the stiff greeting, Ion focused his attention back on the task at hand, trying to carefully place the first half of the roof.

"If you were wanting to use the stove, it's free," he said.

Kaiba nodded and quietly moved past the strangely dressed boy. It seemed that this was a kitchen. He searched through the cupboard for something worth eating. Even so, he couldn't take his eyes from the golden cake cooling on the rack.

The strangest thing about Ion's clothing was the fact it was very light colored and not very coordinated. But then, Ion was rather absent-minded and it was early. His robes were very rarely worn as they drew attention to him...which was bad here.

That fact didn't escape the kindhearted replica for long and he stopped again after a moment and offered Kaiba a knife for it. "Here, take a slice if you'd like to try it.

This sudden act of kindness took Kaiba off guard. He didn't know how to accept something offered so unpretentiously. "No... that is... I never asked for that," he said lamely. "I'd have to pay you back somehow. You made that for someone didn't you?"

"I made it for several people so it will be in pieces soon enough. You having one won't hurt anything." There were plenty of cookies as well, and Ion obviously wasn't looking for anything in return. He was the type to be kind simply for the sake of kindness.

Guilt and awkwardness prevented Kaiba from moving towards the cake for a minute, and the boy's innocent offer made him immediately suspicious. It was in Kaiba's nature to distrust the appearance of kindness, but this kid seemed so genuinely sweet that he didn't know what to do.

He wavered a moment, his gaze turning to the unfinished cookies. "I'll help you out with those then, and it'll be more of a trade."

"That sounds fair enough. My name is Ion."

Ion understood the suspicion. It was a trait he should have taken a note from since he found trouble often in the hotel.

He paused for a moment. "My name is Kaiba Seto," he said. He went to shake the other boy's hand on instinct, but regretted it almost immediately.

The thought of Kaiba helping with Christmas cookies is surprisingly cute. frailestreplica December 28 2011, 06:19:03 UTC
Ion had been perfectly happy to shake his hand, transferring the knife to his free hand. "It's nice to meet you Kaiba. Have you been here long?"

He was a bit taken aback, but he shook firmly. "I'll go wash my hands and then... you can tell me what I need to do." He said the last part with an awkwardness that betrayed how strange this was for him.

LOL I knew he had some endearing traits! frailestreplica December 29 2011, 04:26:07 UTC
Ion's grip wasn't very firm, but he nodded.

"Okay, I'll add some food coloring to some frosting that you can use." He noted the awkwardness and tilted his head. The older boy must have not been used to following directions.
