Rose was starting to get used to this place. Navigating the corridors and... spending entirely too much time than was really appropriate in the elevator, pressing buttons. It wasn't bad, all things considered. A bit like the TARDIS, in that it seemed to be annoyingly larger on the inside, with anything you could possibly want to do installed in it ( Read more... )

'Used to' is such an ugly term. He's here, he's not done exploring it, he's not really any closer than when he arrived to getting out...but he's gotten familiar with the danger zones, and the way things work in the Hotel. He won't call it used to, he'll call it 'familiar'.

It's the music that catches his attention, really, because it's such a difference from most of the sounds in the rooms nearby. Naturally he wanders to the door and, upon seeing who it is, lurks.

She's not particularly entertaining, swaying around like she's got an imaginary partner, hands in the right positions. Her brow creases a bit as she frowns, trying to remember the steps but probably failing miserably.

No, not necessarily entertaining. Entertaining isn't the word he'd use for it if he had to...but he likes it nonetheless. "It's easier with two.'

She blinks, jerking gently out of her focus, turning to face him from where he hovered, lurking by the door. She brushed down her shirt, smoothed her hands on her thighs. "Oh. Hey. Didn't know you were there."

Have a tiny smile. "Come on, then. Show us how."

He glanced around the room a moment. It's obviously some sort of a recreational room, although just given from the precise placement of everything, he doubts the management expects it to be used much.

Confident on the lack of traps (or anything particularly interesting to look at) he tosses her an amused grin. "Are you asking me for dancing lessons?"

It's a pretty basic room, just a stereo system, a dance floor laid out among the carpet. There are tables, but chairs are stacked on top of them like restaurants or pubs do when they close down for the night. And that's... pretty much it aside from the lighting fixtures.

She shot him an amused grin. "Maybe I am."

He nods, and wanders into the room after a few moments contemplation. "Well...first lesson: having two people involved helps with the actual dancing part."

She scrunches her face as if to contemplate this, and the finally nods in agreement. "It does make sense. Right, two people for the dancing. With you so far. What else've you got?"

"Next...it helps to start at the beginning of the song." Lucky he's got a sonic screwdriver still on hand, ready to rectify such a minor thing, but not the big one.

"See, now, that's probably where I went wrong," She said with a nod, wandering over toward him slowly. "Starting in the middle. Always a bad career move."

She grins as he tugs out the sonic, and it starts over at the beginning. "So, we've checked the mirrors and fastened our seat belts."

"Much more interesting life choice, terrible career choice." He grins and takes one her hands, pulling her along to a better, more open spot in the room for dancing. "Is this going to be a step by step process?"

She grins right back, letting herself be lead to the center of the dance floor, and moves into position in front of him. "I think I can figure it out if you want to coast over the less important bits."

He clicks his tongue and guides one of her hands to its proper position. It's not exactly a song written for the dance, but he's seen it done to far more inappropriate music before. It works.

"Skim over to the important parts...well then, move your feet."

She looks just infinitely amused by it all, shifting her hands as he prompts. "Aren't you supposed to lead?"

Shut up. You're a liar. I don't drop threads. :| onlytheblue December 10 2011, 13:29:21 UTC
Eyebrow, Rose. Eyebrow. "I am leading." You know, in the whole...teaching...sort of...look he's dancing, alright? Just go with it, it counts. Of course she never has actually defined what dance she's learning, has she? Probably should.

Step step Rose, keep up with the weird steps. "Bend your knee."
