Looking out over the city, it didn't seem to Selina that place ever changed much at all.
The view from the top of the hotel was the best there was, it was positioned, designed, to give those with money the best view that they could buy. But she didn't exactly have the money to burn, so instead she stood, atop. Staring distantly out over the city that spawled beneath her.
She looked downwards towards the streets below. Busy, bustling Gotham at it's finest. Her eyes sparkled with anticipation. It had been a while after all. Tonight was the night. The russian jewllery exhibit at Gotham met. A big sore. Not the biggest she'd ever done, but it was definitely enough to set her up for a long while. She grinned to herself, pulling at her cowl, tugging it from her head for a second, just to feel the night air better on her skin. The wind in her eyes was making them moist and she wiped at her face, taking a deep breath, inhaling the night, the darkness. It was cold but it made her feel alive, excited.
Any second now, she would have to move. Any second. But for now she could stand in wonder and hope that it would all go right for her - just this once.
