The night had worn on, slowly and surely, and Rude was growing more and more bored as he stood outside the hotel door. It had been yet another day on bodyguard duty, following around his current female client on her daily routine, a silent pair of eyes and an effective pair of fists ready to defend her against whomever might be around to make an attempt on her life or safety. It was slow work, but generally easy- no-one had tried their luck yet, which just left him with general watching duty.
Like tonight, for example. She'd been moved to a very nice hotel room, and it was coming up on hour five outside of her door, having stared at the opposite wall long enough to memorise every twist of the subtle pattern. It was good work, for certain...just boring. Deathly boring, and whatever that sweet smell was in the air-conditioning, it was really starting to get him worked up. Nothing he could do while he was on the job, however, so he simply shifted his feet and stood up against the wall a little bit straighter, one hand raising to adjust his tie.
Hopefully something would happen soon.
