Kyouraku Shunsui, Captain of the 8th Division of the Gotei 13 was a well-known patron of the red light district of Soul Society. The younger son of one of the most respectable families, it seemed he had made it his duty to sink their expectations of him.

There was something so intriguing about the sights and smells of the place.  Despair never dared ( Read more... )

Matsumoto Rangiku Fuku-taichou of the 10th Division of the Gotei 13 was wandering around down the street heading towards her favorite bar. Her stuffy Taichou had made her work later because she had fallen asleep instead of finishing her paperwork and she was in need of some good sake and perhaps a good fuck as well.

She tossed her blond hair over her shoulder and loosened her top a bit more revealing even more of her ample chest to those who wished to look at her. As she turned the corner she smiled. A familiar face and presence caught her eye and she walked towards him.

Shunnsui sensed her coming towards him, and turned. Rangiku-san of all people? He was surprised (he'd been under the impression that they didn't let normal women into red light districts), but she was one of the bolder women of the Gotei 13. Well if she could do it without any kind of repercussions, then who was he to judge? From underneath his hat, he eyed her appreciatively, then stopped himself before she got too near.

[ooc:// I'm not sure his sense of duty will let him mess around with a subordinate, even if Rangiku is from another division lol. Perhaps if he gets drunk enough XD]

[ooc: even if she's willing? They are very god friends after all and typically do go drinking together. but tis your muse XD]

Rangiku approached and smiled up at him though he wasn't much taller than she was. "Good evening~" She said with a slightly teasing lilt as was not unusual with her.

Whether or not she was supposed to be here she never cared. No one had ever tried to kick her out and if they had she had just batter her striking blue eyes, wiggled her chest a little and left them staring as she continued on her way. She was never ashamed of her appearance and had no problems using what she was blessed with to get her way. It also helped that she was far more attractive then some of the other women in the area.

[ooc:// Heh I think it would be mostly because they're friends lol. He wouldn't want to put any potential strain on their relationship, especially since he's not one to commit. But you never know!]

It was mostly his slouching that made him seem shorter. He was actually a good 7 inches taller. "Well, now, what do we have here?" he said, grinning. "Out for a night on the town, Rangiku-san?"

"Ah, you know me well enough Kyouraku-Taichou." She said with a wink. "There's a really good sake shop in this district and the owner doesn't seem to mind me coming to sample some and buy as well."

Her blue eyes were wide with mirth and happiness as she gazed up at her friend. "And yourself?"

"Ahh just this and that and some other things. Nothing very important. Do you mind if I join you?" He could wait on finding a companion tonight. It seemed like it had been a while since he'd been out with his friend. Besides, the thought of the younger woman drinking with some strangers was oddly disconcerting.

"I would be honored if you joined me." She giggled. "As long as you're paying." That was typical Rangiku, trying to get the men to buy her drinks.

Shunsui frowned at this turn of events. "Just like you," he said, a bit put out. "Ah well this makes it the 200th time now?" It was probably more now that he thought about it. A good few decades of their friendship had been spent in various bars in Seireitei. Not that he regretted it but...

"You know, one day you'll have to pay me back," he said jokingly as he began to walk.

Rangiku giggled as she turned around, walking backwards with her hands behind her back making her chest puff out more. "I would pay you back but I spend all my money on clothes. Unless of course you're willing to take another form of payment." She giggled slightly and winked at him before turning back around and walking normally.

Few knew the real Matsumoto Rangiku, but Shunsui was one of those few. He knew she loved Ichimaru Gin and that the man, while dead, still held her heart. She wasn't interested in a long term relationship with anyone at the moment. But she was still flirting with just about any interested male, even if she wasn't intent on actually sleeping with them.

If Rangiku hadn't been a high level shinigami, Shunsui would have marveled at her ability to balance while walking in that awkward position. That weight didn't look like an easy burden. He raised an eyebrow at the implication, but decided to continue the joke a bit further.

"I don't suppose you have any suggestions for repayment?" he asked, matching her playful tone.

It had been easy to see that Rangiku's rambunctious self hid her deeper feelings. Shunsui had always been able to see that Gin was close to her heart, and he'd heard enough drunken ramblings of hers to confirm it. It was why he felt particularly safe while he was teasing her.

"Oh I don't know. I've heard you're really good in bed, I wouldn't mind learning how good first hand." She giggled over at him. She had in fact heard from several women in the district about the virulent Taichou. How he could satisfy any woman thoroughly and it would be a lie to say it hadn't interested her.

But she knew him personally and figured his sense of propriety and the fact she was a friend would possibly inhibit his desire for her. Though several other members of the 13 squads had shown interest in the past and some still did on occasion.

Now that was something he had never heard directly. She was joking of course. He'd never heard any complaints about his technique, but it wasn't as though women sought him out. He knew his general reputation as a romantic playboy, and he'd never bothered to go out of his way to change the general opinion.

"I'm not quite sure I'd live up to your expectations," he said. They'd arrived at the bar, and with a sweeping movement he gestured for her to sit down first.

Rangiku shrugged and continued down the street. She wasn't in a hurry and she was enjoying the company of her friend. "So how's things with you?". She asked smiling over at him.

Shunsui laughed. "I'd much rather hear about you," he said. "Tell me, how has Captain Hitsugaya been treating you?"

She puffed out her cheeks and got that adorable pout on her face that she always got when she complained. "He made me stay later because I was late this morning. Usually he doesn't really care but apparently today he was in a bad mood."

It wasn't that she didn't respect her Captain, quite the opposite actually. He was one of the few men that saw passes her looks to what was underneath in spite of all her faults...like not doing paperwork. He was family to her but even family can become irritated with one another at times.

"Other than that I suppose everything is alright. We have some new members that were assessing and training and we're gathering supplies for a mission the day after tomorrow."

"He doesn't realize how lucky he is to have you sometimes," Shunsui said. "I don't know just how I'd manage without Nanao-chan. Go easy on him; a captain's duties can be a bit... overwhelming." Just the thought of all the paperwork sitting unsigned on his desk made him yawn. A new topic was required.

"A mission? Anything I should know about?"
