Prussia's been here a while, so he's pretty used to the Hotel's shenanigans and the surprises it usually gives its guests. The
devil outfit (complete with tail and wings) is a welcome surprise in his closet when he sees it. It's definitely better than a lot of the other things you encounter here, like surprise aphrodisiacs and random tentacle

Of course, he ends up flagging the bartender for a scotch on the rocks, taking a rather generous gulp, and leaning against the wall as he kept an eye out for something interesting to do.

If there's alcohol, Gilbert's certainly going to find it eventually. It's not a surprise then when he winds up at the bar and orders a beer. The party's pretty okay, but he hasn't come across anyone he knows or someone particularly interesting. Spending time with his bestest best friend ever, bier, sounds like a good idea.
He plops down over a bar stool and waits for his order, not quite noticing a certain Phantom leaning against a nearby wall.

Sadiq's eyes rolled towards the voice, typically finding the behavior to be annoying. Not that he was never rude himself...
Personally, Sadiq was finding the party boring, minus the occasional lady with nice legs strutting on by in a revealing costume. He didn't socialize much, and when he did, it didn't often end peacefully. If he did recognize someone, Sadiq likely wouldn't go out of his way to say hi. Gilbert was among the few that he knew there, though they couldn't be considered that good of friends when they had only spoke in passing a few times.
Fuck, he had nothing better to do. The older man strolled over easily and sat beside the other, finishing his scotch and gruffly requesting another. "My treat."

Gilbert and Sadiq aren't really close, but they've been around each other long enough that they couldn't possibly mistake each other for anyone else. Well, Gilbert couldn't. Sadiq's pretty distinct in his point of view. That height, that voice, that mask--who else could it be despite the fancy threads?
"Türkei." The Prussian ex-Nation acknowledges him with a bit of a smirk just as he gets handed his glass of beer. "You're here too?"

Gilbert is pretty average, yep. Or Sadiq would like to think so (in reality the answer was no, Gilbert was a pretty unique fucker). He was hard to miss in that little getup.
"That's where I'm from, yeah," he snorts dismissively, tipping his glass back. The scotch burned his throat on its descent, but it was a warm feeling that he was accustomed to. "What are you supposed to be anyway, a kitten?"
Reply
"A kitten?" Is the Turk blind? Is that mask of his obstructing his vision? It probably is because where have you seen a kitten that looks like he does?! Gilbert snorts in protest. "Does a kitten have a tail like this?" A hand pulls around to show him the tail. "Awesome wings?" He twists a bit to show him the wings. "And horns like this?" Yep, pointing up at the horns on his hoodie. Definitely not a kitten. Nope.

Maybe it was the scotch, but hey, the costume didn't look totally awful he supposed.

Sadiq's costume hardly looks like a costume since he still has his mask on. It's just nothing new.

Sadiq glanced over at Gilbert from the comment, initially rather confused. Eventually he just let out a long, exasperated sigh and leaned back, arms folded over his chest. "Whuzzat supposed to mean?"
There's a pause where he rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue. "Don't tell me you've been checking me out."
Reply
"Your mask, idiot." The Prussian responds, nodding towards the direction of Sadiq's face as he did. "It's part of your normal getup so that's not much of a costume."
And that comment earns Sadiq a laugh because shit. "You wish." Sharp teeth flash in that wide, shit-eating grin. "You're not my fucking type!"

Honestly. Gilbert didn't need to get so defensive about it. Sadiq was just being a douche, as usual. "Tall, dark, and handsome isn't your thing?"
Reply
A douche is right, but he's kinda entertaining. He makes Gilbert snigger, leaning on the bar a bit with his elbows, crimson eyes narrowed over a devilish smirk. "Dream on, Sadiq, dream on..."
Reply
And what was that smirk about? Sadiq watched him for a moment with raised eyebrows as Gilbert leaned easily against the bar. "Well is there any reason you're not out there dancing with some girl?"
Reply
"Nah, no reason." He answers. "Just haven't seen anyone interesting, that's all..."
Reply
"'At so?" He leaned his elbow on the bar, temple resting on his knuckles. Watching Gilbert on edge as he gulped down his beer was amusing. "Or is it just that you've already been shot down too many times in one night?"
Reply
And besides, you'd have to actually make an effort to pick up girls to get shot down. He's just... Not in the mood.
