At first, it was the noise that drew her attention. Noisy rooms weren't really that abnormal in the hotel, but hearing sounds of violence instead of pleasure? Quietly, she stepped into the doorway and found herself staring down at the mess littering the room, as well as the person that had created it.
No matter what, the sight of him pulled a small smile to her lips, even if it was a bit sad.
"You do protect people with it."

"Then why is Shinji dead? ...It's my fault... if only I had realized what day it was sooner..."

Not tonight.
She moved across the room in just a few steps, dropping to her knees before him as she reached for one of his hands. It wouldn't do for him to find out how she'd ended up after everything was over, so for now, she'd see what she could do to help him through.
"It's not your fault. It never was."

Her fingers turned his hand over as she let her gaze drop to survey the damage. She could heal him, even if it was something minor. All it would take would be a touch of the power she held, but she hesitated. It might not be something he wanted from her. Maybe, just maybe, he was seeking another comfort.
"Maybe he saw it as his penance for what happened in the past."
A vague memory tugged at the back of her mind; her mother tending to some childhood injury. Without thinking, she pulled his injured hand up to brush a careful kiss across his bloody knuckles.

"...I know... Shinji wanted--" He cut his sentence short when she kissed his knuckles. His face turned bright red and he just blinked for a good minute solid.
"...Minako...?"
