Reclining back in her large, cushioned office chair, Maya brought the lit cigarette to her lips and took in a deep breath. Smoking on school grounds went against the school's code of conduct, but she could care less ( Read more... )

Jin, the coach of the school's championship Kendo team and gym teacher, opened the door. He wore a black suit and tie with a white shirt and nodded to Maya as he entered, sniffing at the air, able to pick up the faint scent of smoke. "Smoking again Maya-sensei?" He asked, a faint smirk playing on his lips.

He had come to give her the folder that was tucked under his arm but there was no reason why they couldn't talk while he avoided heading back to the gymnasium.

Checking off the last answer on the test in front of her, she turned to the newcomer smiling. "Perceptive as ever, Jin. Planning to tattle to the old man about me this time?"

Though he could done so the first few times he'd been able to catch her. The fact that he hadn't done so just yet, made her all more suspicious of his intentions whenever he came around.

He set the folder on her desk and sat down in the chair opposite her. "Why would I?" He asked, reaching into his coat for his kiseru and tobacco pouch, packing the pipe and lighting it, inhaling the smoke deeply and exhaling slowly into the air. He adjusted his glasses and smiled slightly, "It's always nice to talk to you Maya." His glasses were interesting as it was well known that he didn't need them and really only wore them to make himself look distinguished.

If she were to open that folder she'd find it was empty and he'd just used as an excuse to see her.

"Or rather you just enjoy using my office as your own personal smoke room." She watched as the folder landed on her desk, noticing how light it sounded when it landed but thinking nothing of it. Amused, she rolled herself closer to him, reaching up to remove his glasses and setting them aside gently. "You know if the old man catches you, we could both be in trouble."

She stared up into his eyes for a bit, before smiling and turning back to the papers she still needed to go through for class. "Doesn't your team have practice today?"

"It's not like you mind." He said with a smile, blowing a smoke ring. "And I coach the best Kendo team in the country, I don't think I need to worry about the old man."

He stares into her eyes as she removes his glasses a faint blush appearing on his cheeks. He runs a hand through his hair and smiles. "I can let them work by themselves for now."

He was right, Maya didn't mind. She let him do as he pleased; have a smoke in her office, chat for a bit before heading off. It was routine but...she wouldn't have mind if he done something a little more once in a while. She couldn't lie and say she wasn't attracted to him; it was quite the opposite.

But she reached for her pen again, going back to the task of correcting yet another stack of test papers.

"Well, since you seem so confident in their skills, I guess there's no harm in letting you stay." She crossed of another answer, before lifting her gaze to the empty folder he had placed on her desk. "I see you've brought me another empty folder though. I'll have to add it to the collection."

He watches her for a moment and smiled, finally coming clean with his intentions these past few weeks. "Actually, I was curious if you wanted to go out for a few drinks tonight, just us mind you." He said, reaching for one of her test papers, pulling a face at the awfulness of the answers.

"Kids today, you'd think we weren't teaching them anything."

"Are you offering to buy?" Unlike some of the other teachers that worked here, Maya rarely went out drinking. That wasn't to say, however, that she couldn't hold her own.

She glanced over at Jin as he looked over the test, laughing to herself. "I think it's because they're too busy focusing on other things to want to study."

"Of course. What kind of date would I be if I didn't buy?" He said with a smile. It was after he spoke that he heard her answer to his prior comment.

"Hm. I find it hard to pay attention around you myself."

"Oh? Is that so?" She returned his smile with a smirk of her own as she capped her pen and set it down on her desk. She reached for his glasses, rolling over to him as she handed them back. Though she preferred his look without them on, she knew he'd probably still want to wear them out. "I'll have to try my best not to distract you then."

Slowly she rose from her seat, walking over to the nearby file cabinet to grab her purse.

"What time were thinking we should go?"

He put out his kiseru and slipped it back into his coat, watching her from behind appreciatively. He slipped his glasses back on and smiled, "There's nothing you can do that can't distract me." He said. Flirting was not Jin's strong suit but he was trying his best.

"After extracurriculars?"

She peered at him from over her shoulder, laughing in amusement at his line for a moment, before leaning over the drawer she had opened. She pulled out her purse a moment later, bumping the drawer shut with her hip as she headed back to her seat.

"I don't have a problem with that. It'll at least give me time to finish up here first." There were a few more papers to go through, then she would be all caught up for tomorrow. "Should we meet back here or somewhere else?"

"Let's meet back here." He said standing, putting the test back on the stack. He looked at the red-haired woman and smiled, "I'm looking forward to it."

And with that said he opened the door and walked out, presumably to the Kendo dojo to train his team.

When he was gone from her sight, she turned back to her work smiling. Today had indeed taken an interesting turn and for once, she was glad she decided to stay late. Reaching for the folder he had brought, she opened a drawer in her desk and added to the pile of various others he had brought in the past. Perhaps she'd ask him just where he kept getting these things from.

Several tests and note scribbling later, Maya was finally done with work. She stretched her arms toward the ceiling, letting out a sigh and feeling good about today's accomplishments. Glancing at the clock on the wall, she realized there were still a few minutes left before Jin returned. Carefully she gathered everything together, putting them in order to make things easier on herself the next morning.

Jin soon arrived, dressed in his suit and smiled at Maya. "Shall we?" He asked, offering a hand to her. Jin was a little nervous, going out on a date with a woman he'd only known for a short time.

She had just locked up her desk and was putting the key into her jacket pocket when he showed up. She returned his smile with one of her own as she grabbed her purse, taking his hand shortly after and following him out. She did pause for a moment, reaching back to shut her office door before walking down the hall with him.

"I wonder, Jin. You didn't happen to tell your students you were going out with me tonight, did you? I'd hate to thing how heartbroken they might be tomorrow morning in class."
