John ran through the hotel corridors, a look of slight panic and utter confusion apparent on his facial features. Not too far behind him followed two burly men along with a stout woman who all shouted with claims of 'I saw him first!' and 'That reward is mine!'. Naturally, John hadn't the faintest idea as to what in the hell they were talking about. The occasional wanted poster bearing his face on some of the hotel room doors may have had something to do with it though.
Unable to stop just yet - he was being chased, after all - John flung out his arm and ripped off one of signs from a door and shoved it into his pocket, uncaring that it crinkled and slightly ripped. As long as it was still legible, it didn't matter. Worrying about neatly folding up a piece of paper was the least of his troubles.
After running for, give or take, ten minutes, John felt safe and far enough from his pursuers to make the bold attempt of halting and dashing right into the nearest room with high hopes that it would be empty - he's had enough of the hotel's shenanigans for on day.
Sucking in a breathe, he stopped and shoved open a door, only to slam is shut. Noticing that there was nothing particularly odd about the room, he slumped against the door and slid to the floor, breathing roughly and raggedly from all the sprinting about.
When he heard his pursuers run past the closed door and, as he had hoped, blindly right down the hall, John reached into his pocket and pulled out the Wanted!poster. Reading it, he slightly gasped at the text. It read that he was wanted for assault, murder, and theft with a bounty of ten thousand dollars o his head. Completely shocked by this, all he could do was stare at the paper dumfounded, unaware of another presence nearby.
