Of all things, he wanted to keep sleeping, but cool air teased at bare toes that had slipped out from under the sheets. Grumbling and still half-asleep, he tucked them back under the warmth offered by soft sheets and almost let himself drift back into the odd dreams he'd been having lately.
Wait... cool air?
Blinking open sleep hazed eyes, he leaned up to peer around, only to find himself in the Sky Room he'd visited a few times before. The huge windows around him told him it was still night, but there was no mistaking what was going on outside. Thick clouds blotted out the night sky and a heavy snow swirled around the windows; the tiny flecks of white visible only briefly before vanishing back into the dark surrounding the room.
Shifting to sit up properly, he reached up to rub at his eyes, hoping to clear away the remaining sleep as well as lingering dreams that had plagued him for days. Time spent in hell with a sadistic redhead intent on punishing him for his sins... a child with vivid red hair and eyes but covered in delicate vines...
Were they all just dreams?
Shaking his head as if to help the thoughts fade away, he climbed from the bed and padded to the bathroom, intent of finding a robe at the very least. Hopefully, it would be something warm.
