Akiko stared despairingly at the spinning wheel sitting next to an intimidating pile of straw. How in the world was she supposed to turn that into gold? Who came up with that ridiculous story? Well, whoever did got her stuck in the wicked queen's highest tower, door locked from dusk until dawn.
The dark haired woman let out a heavy sigh, sitting against the wall furthest from the spinning wheel. Seriously, if she knew how to spin straw into gold, would she really be living in a one room thatched house next to the tanner's shop on the outskirts of town? Would she be wearing a peasant's dress and have hands rough from years of hard labor?
She dropped her head in her hands, mind reeling as she tried to figure a way out of this damn situation.
